The next time Serenity opened her eyes, she was looking into a black ceiling with an eerie green glow. Her first thought was 'I'm dead', and the voices that she could hear were just figment of her imagination. A girly scream got her attention, and she slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes.

"What-what? What's wrong with you? Is that going to happen to all of us?" A familiar voice floated into her ears making her freeze. She knew that voice.

"No. I just left my meds in the house," She knew that voice as well. Hank. Slowly she got to her feet, pressing a hand to her temple when she felt an awful ache; her body was buzzing.

   "What happened?" Moira.

   "Where are we?" Alex.

Serenity turned around carefully, observing the people in the electric cell with her. When her eyes landed on a familiar silver-haired speedster, her heart beat rapidly and she took a sharp breath. Peter. She stood behind the small group of people to keep herself from their line of view.

"Hey. Hey!" Raven yelled at the man stood behind the glass up above them. He stood with a triumphant smirk, proud to have contained some of the strongest mutants.

"Hello, Mystique," The man drawled. Serenity scowled at his annoying voice.

   "Major Stryker," Raven replied sarcastically.

"Colonel Stryker," He stated with an even larger smirk, "I wouldn't get to close to the wall if I were you. It may create some...discomfort."

Serenity glanced at the walls, rolling her eyes as she felt the electricity buzzing within them. Before she could throw his trap back in his face, Moira had stepped toward the glass with a determined expression.

"I'm Moira MacTaggert. I'm a senior officer at the CIA."

"I know who you are Agent MacTaggert," Serenity couldn't help but agree with his tone right them. This agent was starting to get on her nerves.

"You cannot keep me here in this.." Serenity almost scoffed, eyes rolling a second time at the older woman.

"Actually, I can. A psychic event just destroyed every nuke from here to Moscow. That event emanated from exactly where we found you. At the home of the world's most powerful psychic. So, you're going to tell me...where is Charles Xavier?" Stryker leaned closer to the glass in hopes of looking somewhat intimidating. It wasn't working.

"It's not him you should be worried about. There's someone else. Someone more powerful," Moira spoke to Stryker. Serenity's mind flashed with the image of the blue man and his group of mutants.

"If you let us out of here, we can help you," Raven reasoned, only to be shut down almost immediately.

"Do you really expect me to believe that? You can put on any face you want, but I know who you are. What you are," Stryker spoke. Raven looked away from him as Serenity's insides bubbled with anger.

"It's not hard to tell who you are either, Major," Serenity started glancing up into his eyes, "a little boy whose father didn't love him, so he joined the military in hopes of proving himself to dear old dad. Only for him to be even more disappointed in you. Am I right, or am I right, Major?"

Stryker was shocked into silence, staring at the blonde in disdain. "That's Colonel to you Miss Xavier," He sneered, stalking away in rage.

"Damn," Alex grinned, walking toward the small girl to pull her into a hug. Peter glared at the male from behind them. "Thank you for saving me, Ren," he continued, pulling away to give her a forehead kiss.

"Who is that?" Peter whispered to Hank, a frown sitting on his face. Hank side-eyed Peter with a knowing look.

"That's Alex Summers, he's her best friend from before you," Hank muttered to him before directing is attention to Moira. "Hey, Moira? Um, what did you mean when you said someone more powerful than Charles?"

Serenity sat next to wall with her eyes shut, trying to get a read of the building through the wires. So far she could tell it was an army base, with some sort of aircraft hanger. Her concentration was broken when someone sat down in front of her. She slowly opened her blue eyes to stare into familiar dark brown ones.

"Hey, Sparky," Peter smiled awkwardly as Serenity stared blankly at him.

   "I'm mad at you."

Peter sighed loudly, putting his hands on his chin as he frowned, "I know."

   "Good."

"Can I at least tell you why I left?" Peter pleaded.

"You don't have to, Peter. I'm not mad that you left; I'm mad that you came back and didn't try to see me, or talk to me," Serenity sighed, glancing down at her hands as they fidgeted in her lap. Peter glanced down as well, looking at his own hands as he contemplated what to say next.

"I thought you wouldn't want to see me," He looked away from her, trying to avoid getting lost in her beautiful eyes.

"I always want to see you, stupid," Her lips quirked into a small smirk as his head snapped back in her direction.

"I-I'm-," Peter began to say, but cut himself off and chose a different direction. "I'm sorry."

"I know," Serenity whispered, closing her eyes again. Peter decided to leave her be, sighing as he got up to talk to Raven.

"You know him? Magneto?" Raven glanced in his direction before looking away.

"I used to. I'm not so sure anymore."

"What was he like? Was he... like they say he was? Was he a... bad guy?" Peter stuttered a bit while asking her, nervous for the answer she might give.

"No. I mean , yeah, he was. Why do you care so much? Did you see his speech on TV or something?" Peter glanced at Serenity real quick to make sure wasn't paying attention before he answered.

   "Yeah, but...he's my father."

"What?" Raven turned to him with wide eyes.

"He and my mom, they-" He made a gesture with his hands as Raven cut him off.

"Yeah, I know. But, are you sure?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. He left my mom before I was born. I met him ten years back, but I didn't know it was him. By the time I figured it out, I was too late, you know. Then this week I saw him on TV again. And, I came to their house looking for him, but, by the time I got there...late again," He spared another glance at Serenity. "You know, for a guy who moves as fast as me, I always seem to be too late."

Raven watched as Peter glanced at Alex as he sat next to Serenity. It became obvious to her that he wasn't just talking about finding Eric. He thinks he was too late with Serenity and she fell for someone else.

"Let's hope not this time," She spoke catching his attention.

   "Yeah, seriously."

"By the way, they aren't together."

   "I-I-I don't know-w what you're t-talking abo-"

   "Shut up."

   "Alright."
