The attack on UA resulted in a lot of destruction, and it would take about a week for them to get everything fixed up... so, everyone was allowed to go back home for that week and recover. It had been three days since the attack, and each of those days was spent staring at the wall and replaying everything in your mind.

It all hurt. The memories hurt. You hadn't slept more than two or three hours over the span of those three days, and your entire body was aching from head to toe. It felt like the pain would never cease...
Bakugou and your friends would check up on you often, asking how you were or if you needed anything; but the only reply they could get out of you was an "I'm fine" or "I don't need anything, thank you."

Even with the knowledge that the villains couldn't reach you, you couldn't shake the fearful feeling. Then there was Shigaraki... your dear brother... the brother you loved, yet feared, more than anything. Memories of him were hard to come across anymore-- after he ran away, and was deemed dead, you had tried to forget about him. Though as much as you loved him, you never wanted to see him. Not after what he did to your mother, the pain he caused her...

. . .

It was fairly early one morning, you were sitting and enjoying some warm tea with your mother. Your (e/c) eyes were fixated on the window, staring at the view of the cherry blossom tree that swayed beautifully in your yard. The memory of the day you and your mother had planted appeared in your mind, and you couldn't help but smile softly.

"Ooh! A smile from my dear Y/n!" Your mother's pippy voice caught your attention, eyes rolling slightly at what she had said, "Sorry sweetie... I know these past few days have been rough. What made you smile, hm?" she asked, sipping lightly on her tea.

"Ah, I was just remembering when we planted the tree out there." You gestured towards the pink tree that was viewed through the window.

"Oh! What a lovely memory... I remember it like it was yesterday! Ooh, you were so eager to surprise your father with the little sapling." she clapped her hands together lightly, a humble smile spreading across her face.

"Hah... I was. Then he got held up at work and we had to plant it without him..."

"Hm... true, but we still had quite some fun!"

"Sticking worms in my face wasn't very fun, momma." You rolled your eyes, but couldn't quite hide that soft smile.

"Speaking of your father..." she began, turning around and reaching for something. Your mother turned back around, holding a guitar case that was covered in stickers, "This was your father's guitar, Y/n."

Your eyes widened slightly, staring at the beautiful case in wonder. Your father always loved music, and his love for it was passed down to you!

"I remember you and your brother used to sit and listen to him play for hours... it always cheered you up, so I thought you should have it!" she placed the guitar on the ground and slid it over to you.

You used to play, in fact, you played really well! But after your father had passed, you stopped. You stopped with anything music-related, really... All of it brought back memories you had struggled to suppress.

Your eyes met your mother's soft ones, a sweet smile on her face. You couldn't help but frown a little, an aching in your heart forming, "Mom... you know I don't play anymore"

She sighed softly, nodding her head, "I know sweetie... but could you just try? Just try to play again, maybe it'll help you feel better."

Despite not wanting to, you nodded slowly and forced a soft smile. Your mom relaxed a little and continued to sip gently on her tea. After a few more minutes, the two of you had finished your tea and started cleaning around the house. It was actually pretty fun... reminded you of when you were younger, dancing around the house with her; your favorite songs playing in the background as you sang into the brooms.

. . .

"Mom!" Your voice called down the hallway, soft laughter falling behind it. Step by step you darted down the hall, your mother following behind with a fake spider she'd found in the attic.

"The spiders gonna getcha! Run Y/n!" Her soft voice was filled with laughter and she ran, smiling brightly.

You continued to run around the house until you were cornered. She crept towards you with the spider, ready to fling it at you, "Nooooo!" You cried out as it attacked you, laughing hysterically.

. . .

"Hey, mom... where'd the remote go? I want to play something to help us clean." You asked, your mother gesturing towards the table. You grabbed the remote and turned on a show.

It only took thirty seconds before your attention had disconnected from cleaning, and focused completely on the show. You were so into it that you hadn't even realized your mother standing beside you, just as lost in the show.

After one episode had ended, your gaze met your mother's... and after a second of silence, both of you burst out laughing.

. . .

"Are the noodles done?"

"I'm not sure..."

"Throw one at the ceiling, like your father used to do."

You laughed softly, using the spoon to bring out one of the noodles. Your father had weird ways of doing many things, but throwing a noodle at the ceiling to see if it was finished was by far the weirdest.

You tossed it up and it stuck, "Yup! It's done." You turned to your mother, laughing softly.

. . .

The day had slowly come to an end. The two L/n's were sitting don't the couch, chowing down on some ice cream. You couldn't remember when the last time was that you and your mother had spent the day together... but, "This was nice."

"Hm?"

"Today. Today was nice mama... I missed spending time with you."

Your mother turned and looked at your smiling face, a small smile creeping up on hers too, "I missed this too dear."

A moment of silence waved over the both of you, but was soon broken by a cracking voice, "I love you, mom."
