Hawkkit lay in a bright part of the nursery as the sun slowly rose, brightening up camp. His brother and sister slept in the same nest. He could tell they were best friends. Hawkkit sat at the entrance and looked around camp.

Hawkkit sighed, and ruffled his brown fur. He looked back up outside as somebody awoke in the warrior den. He waited, but his heart sank when Summersong emerged. She looked around, her usual neat blond pelt scruffy and messy.
Summersong looked over to Hawkkit and gave him a warming smile, then started to pad across the musdy clearing. Is she really my mother? Hawkkit asked himself as Summersong was half way to the nursery. Her walking was at a slow pace as she was still sleepy.
Yes, yes she is. Hawkkit convinced himself. He sighed heavily as Summersong reached the nursery, and gave Hawkkit a affectionate lick on the head. He flattened his ears.
"How are you Hawkkit?" She purred, blinking her big blue eyes down at him. He looked back up. He still couldn't grasp it in his paws that this cat was his mother.
"Good." He mumbled miserably.
"Is something bothering you?" She mewed, concern taking over her gentle tone.
Hawkkit hesitated. What could he tell her? "Well, er..." He stopped and looked up at Summersong. She sent him a look of reassurance, and hawkkit took a deep breath before carrying on. "I keep having a dream about a cat, she talks to me and guides me along the stars." He whispered quietly, trying not to disturb his littermates.
Summersongs face darkened. She suddenly looked very irritated. "Is there any repetition in these dreams?"
"Well, yeah." Hawkkit shrugged his shoulders slightly. The she-cat was starting to look like a hunter who just missed a large and good prey that could've kept a hungry clan alive.
"And what happens?" She mewed quietly, trying to keep her voice steady.
"This cat walks me across the stars and repeats the same thing at the end of every dream." He sighed heavily and looked at the floor. War will spread, when water runs red....... With bravery of a hawk, speed of lightning and the grace of a sparrow, over land and sea, together forever is where they will be... He thought. Every night the tabby repeated it to him and before he could ask what it was the cat would disappear into a cloud of mist.
"What does she say?" Summersongs nose twitched as she longed to know.
"Oh, i forgot." Hawkkit mewed nervously. He had a gut feeling he should only tell his kin, not his mother. A small growl rose gently from Summersongs throat, but she stopped as Squirrelkit stirred and slowly sat up in her nest and yawned.
Hawkkit sighed in relief and ran over to his sister. If she didn't wake up Summersong would've started to question him. Hawkkit licked her cheek and she purred. "Morning, Hawkkit."
"Morning, Squirrelkit." He purred back, then Lightningkit rose his head. He looked over to his siblings but then his gaze fell on Summersong, who was sitting down in annoyance by the nursery door, and he quickly put his head back dkwn and pretebded to drift back to sleep when he was actually just keeping his eyes closed.
A moment of silence passed over the nursery, but Nightwing soon broke it. "Guys, guess what!" She howled and she darted into the nursery, nearly toppling over Summersong.
"What?" Summersong snapped.
"Mistysun from Wolfclan is dead!" She yowled in despair, tears flooding down the she-cats cheeks. Hawkkit looked at her, then he noticed something strange. The black tabby had a faint white glow around her. He tried to ignore it
Before anybody could ask, she carried on, "Dogs attacked her and killed her, Sparrowpaw was watching it as well!" Nightwing wailed. Summersong gave her a stern look.
"It's sad, of course, but what is so important between you and Mistysun? She is from Wolfclan." Summersong hissed.
Nightwing paused and sniffed, her ocean blue eyss were bloodshot from tears. "She-She was my sister." Nightwing blurted out. The cats who were awake stared at her in shock.
"What? How?" Lightningkit lifted his head quickly from his fake sleep. Summersong looked at him, but thrn tutned back to Nightwing as curiosity burned from her pelt.
"It came to me last moon, the kittypet who saved from the thunderpath was my father! Stitch is my father!" Nightwing cried. Her eyes were filled with happiness as she finally found her father but were in despair from her lost sister. "I started off as a kittypet, my mother died so it was me, Misty and my brother Storm who is over in Breezeclan. Stitch soon got into fights so we all fled from our twolegs but we were split up on the way down to the clans and we were all accepted into different ones!" She informed the cats.
"Who's Storm?" Summersong asked like she barely paid any attention to the rest of the agonizing story which had really made Hawkkit feel sympathy for the warrior.
"His name is Greyspot now." Nightwing mewed quiety, flattening her ears. She looked around the den as another tear dropped down her face. She soon realized that Summersong was giving her a look of hate, and left without warning.
