Scars

Chapter Eleven

"We need to go if we're going to make the flight on time," Hotch said.

"Hey, you're the one making out like we're in high school again," I said with a laugh. I started to walk back to the SUV when my phone chimed. It was a text from Prentiss.

You guys ok? We're about to go wheels up.

I quickly typed out a reply.

Something about the past came up. We both needed time to process and cool down. It's all good. We'll be there in a few.

I stuffed my phone back into my pocket and got in the passenger seat of the SUV. Hotch got in the driver seat and put his hand out. I put my hand in his and he kissed my knuckles. We drove hand in hand to the airport.

"Look, I know that they're all profilers and will probably figure it out soon enough but right now, I just want this to be between us. At least until we figure out what this is," I said.

"I agree. I want to keep you to myself for a little while at least," Hotch said. Hotch turned onto the interstate and it was a straight shot to the airport. Hearing Aaron say that made my heart flutter. I rolled my eyes internally at myself. Quit acting like you're a teenager, Sara. It's Hotch. 

We continued our conversation about how Hotch wanted me to meet Jack. We decided to do it at Jack's favorite park where he could go play without us if he didn't want to deal with us. 

Suddenly, I felt a hard feeling in my gut and looked around. Something was up  but I didn't know what. I looked at Hotch.

"What's wrong?" he said. I shook my head.

"I can't put my-" I started. I was cut off by an 18-wheeler hitting us on the passenger side. I felt my head jerk and a rib or two crack. The SUV turned on its head and I blacked out.

 ~I know this chapter is short but I have a lot coming for you guys. I completely changed where I wanted the story to go and I really hope you guys like it!~
