The next morning, Hikari woke up to a sunny morning, but slightly chilly. She sat up from the lump of hey and looked around at her surroundings. Where was Jotaro? She spotted Nemuru resting against the mouth of the cave, relaxed yet firm at the same time, but no Jotaro nor his friend, Kakyoin.
"Jotaro?" She said, but there was no sound. "Jotaro?" she said once more, but still no sound. She was getting scared. Did he leave her here all alone by herself? Did he not love her anymore? If he didn't love her anymore, why did he kiss her last night? Why would he hold her? Why would he risk his life to run with her? All of these questions came piling into her mind one after the other.
Hikari didn't know what to do now; she didn't know where she was. While she was panicking there was a sudden rustle in the trees outside of the cave that startled Hikari and Nemuru quickly awoken and position herself in front of her Princess, gripping her sword. The Princess stared outside the entranceway waiting for her father or one of the royal guards or a scout to come in and drag her back to the castle. Suddenly, Jotaro and Kakyoin jumped into the cave and the lavender-eyed man said cheerfully, "Hey ladies, glad to see you two are awake." Hikari sighed of relief.
"The hell are you calling a lady?" Nemuru questioned, giving Kakyoin a look. The young man gave a nonchalant shrug while Jotaro goes straight towards his beloved. He pauses for a moment as he takes in the form of her. Hikari now looks just how she was when she was a child. Her skin milky white and her hair shining like the golden sun. He gave a small smile and stepped forth and pulled her in a loving embrace.
"Where were you?" Hikari asked. "You had me so worried. I thought you had left me all alone." Jotaro shook his head, lifting her chin and kissing her lips. "I would never leave you. Never again. Kakyoin and I went out to find food." He said. He turned to see Kakyoin dig through their sack and tossing him a piece of fruit. Jotaro caught and handed it to Hikari. The girl smiled and thanked him, taking a bite out of it.
"Why didn't you wake and bring me along, I could've helped." Nemuru says, catching another fruit that Kakyoin tossed her.
"I wanted to, but then Jotaro and I believed it would be too risky. The Kingdom of the Moon might still be out there looking for you." Kakyoin told her.
"Hm, good point. We're still within the two kingdoms territory and we're still nowhere near the border." Nemuru said, taking another bite of the fruit. "So, what do we do now? After all, what would the Prince of the Kingdom of the Stardust be doing all the way out here?"
"Well, the king-." "The old man finally came to his senses and allowed me to leave the castle. I left and I'm never going back." Jotaro strongly tells her, completely cutting off Kakyoin. He gave his friend a stern look, silently informing him to not say any more than what's been said. Jotaro was serious in his claim. He was never going back to that prison of a castle for as long as he lives. He has no reason too, now that he has his Princess back.
"Jotaro." Hikari says, reaching up to cup his cheek. Kakyoin clears his throat and nodded in agreement with Jotaro's claim. "Right. There's no real destination so we're just travelling the lands." He says.
Nemuru gave them an odd look before turning away. "Yeah, sure...so let's head out once we're done eating. We've got a long way to go." She says.
After they were finished eating, the group jumped on their respective horses' backs and they were off. They entered the forest and Nemuru used her shadow to sink into the shades on the trees to sense if anyone was out there following them. Sometime later, they came to a path that was along a river. Seeing that it was time for a break, the group hopped down their horses and sat down by the river. Hikari took off her shoes and dipped her feet into the cool waters. Sighing in content.
