Here It Gets a Bit Interesting

I woke up. My head was killing me. I was more than a bit hungry. And I was laying against something warm with a loudly beating heart. An arm was wrapped tight around me. My gaze followed it up to... Kai?
Oh gods. His face was peaceful. Eyes still closed and hair looked soft. It felt like a safe place to be.
"No offense but watching me in my sleep counts as the actions of a stalker." His eyes opened and caught mine. "I am sure you couldn't contain yourself. It's not often you see a face like mine. And my sociopath-ness well that's a turn on for everyone. It's very hot I'm told. Very in. I just don't want to be looked at like how people look at puppies. Which you are doing now. I mean I think you brother is the closest to a puppy being a dog and all."

I laughed softly, it was rougher than usual. Tinged with something else I wouldn't name. I disentangled myself from him even as I he inches closer to me. "First, I am not the stalker. I am not the one who fell asleep in someone else's bed without them knowing. Second, mind your tongue. Nik would kill you if he heard you comparing him to a puppy, in your words I'm a dog too. We are twins after all."
Kai's face lit up, "You are too hot. Like Sloane on Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Also, super cool your brother would try to kill me. It makes things interesting. The most recent person who was killed. Well, it wasn't that exciting. It was my brother Luke... By the way it was me who killed him... By the way that makes me I think the most powerful witch in the world. By the way that might just be my giant coven... And you should like fight me or something. Not to the death that's kinda not my speed with you, but for, I guess people would say, fun? I mean fighting to the death would be fun with some people, but you can't die so it's kind of unfair to me. Like I can do a protection spell, which I will, but I mean it wears off after I die the first time. Anyway, will you?"
"Okay," my own smile fell upon my face sticking, "let's spar. I'll get dressed and we can. My family owns this huge amount of land."
His eyebrows lifted and smile quirking, "You don't care I killed my brother, took his magic? And you'll still spar with me?"

"I don't know your brother. Maybe I met him once. I am not sure. Either way no reason for me to really care. Why would I if I don't know them?" I shrugged. "It's not like he's my family or someone I love. Yeah I will still spar with you. Like I said no big deal I don't care."

His grin widened. "So will you marry me?" It was a joke, but I had my own interpretation.
"If you are asking me to go out with you first. I suppose I can." His grin grew wider if possible and he rolled over trapping me on my side kissing me. It was filled with something too great for me to describe. Sparks literally seemed to shoot between us. It ended much too soon. My eyes looked up questioning Kai. Why did he stop? Why?
His own eyebrows were knit with confusion. "What-What is it?" My head felt a little foggy from the kiss. Oh gods. Was it me? He was looking at me as though I had a second head. I reminded myself it didn't matter anyways, after so long on earth having someone as a boyfriend meant almost nothing. Still something about him made my stomach flutter as though I were a true teen once more.

"I felt something strange coursing through you. It almost felt like magic buried deep within you. It was coursing through you and it was a lot."
"What?" I was confused. He knew I was a vampire.
"It's so strong now it seems to be building in this room. It's pulsating like a heart beat."
His face was flat, none of his usual joking.

I laughed nervously, "You mean like maybe you are feeling that I'm a vampire. Magic courses through every vampire. The magic that makes vampires is most strong through Originals. Maybe your magic radar or whatever just detected it?"
He nodded slowly. Eyebrows still knit together. "Yeah. Maybe. Just get ready so we can duel."
I hopped up untangling myself from him completely. The air was cold in the room without him raising goosebumps to my skin. His assurance fell flat, I could tell he still believed something was amiss, but if he wasn't going to say something I'd pretend as he did.
