Chapter Three

Grey's P.O.V.

"Well, she's a NEW friend, Dennis. That's why." I say, walking home from Harley's house.

Did I turn left? Or was it right...?

I can't think with the sun beating down on my back. The longer I walk, the heavier my bag feels.

"I'm not picking a fight, all I want to know is if you could pick me up! Oh, I don't know, maybe because I'm in the MIDDLE OF NO WHERE!"

Ok, now I'm getting mad. He never has a problem with picking me up, so why is it so difficult now? Maybe if I go back to Harley's house I could---

Oh, no.

It's Kelly Quinn and her posse of idiotic, overly dressed, makeup clowns, which includes the famous Melissa Sugar.

"I've got to go." I say blankly, never breaking eye contact with Jade.

I hang up the phone and froze. She gives me a smirk, and starts walking towards me. When she finally catches up to me, she hands me a flyer.

"Here." she says, her perfectly done lipstick shining in the sun light. I hastily take the paper, reading it immanently.

KELLY'S SWEET 16 OPEN HOUSE PARTY. BRING BOOZE, DRUGS, FRIENDS, AND YOURSELF! NO PARENTS ALLOWED ;)

"You're inviting me to your party?"

"HA! Oh, wow, Grey. You really know how to make a girl laugh. Don't be stupid, though. It's for Weston." Weston is my twin sister.

Kelly's dark hair bounces every time she talks, and it makes her skin seem completely flawless.

We use to be friends. But that's another story for another day. I fold the flyer and put it in my pocket.

"Well, how do you know I won't put on West's clothes and pretend to be her? I mean, you could never tell the difference before, how could you now?" I say in a daring tone.

She gives me a look. The kind of look that makes you regret every decision you've ever made.

"So, give it to your sister, and never speak to me again!" she says with a beaming smile.

Her and her stupid friends walk past me. One of them "accidentally" pushes me to the ground. I watch them walk away, not even bothering to get up because: Well, what was the point?

"Skanks." Tammy says, extending her arm and helping me to my feet. "Yeah." I say, grabbing her and pulling myself up

Tammy's looking at my outfit: a plain T-shirt, some weird yellowish orange working boots, and a pair of jeans.

It's nothing compared to hers. She has the black skinny jeans, black with silver studded combat boots, a sleeveless shirt with a sleeveless light denim jacket over it, she also has her choker (to which I'm wearing a similar one), and her black rubber bracelets. She really likes black, but that's the problem. Tammy is a blue eyed, platinum blonde with super pale skin. But, I can never compete to her.

"Come on, I'm finally giving you that makeover," she says. "Ok, but where exactly did you come from?"

"Oh, I followed you and newbie and waited until you were out," she says like it's obvious.

"You know, it's not even that weird anymore," I say with a chuckle in my voice.

"Yeah, well we better get going. Devon and West are at my house, and you know how those two are together." She puts an arm around my shoulders and started walking.

"Yeah," I say, looking back at the Rivers' house.

I should've told her that I knew what it was like to be the new girl, because I do. I know it all too well. When we were still in Britain, mum never stayed in the same place.

That's why Dennis took me and West, and left to America as soon as he got out of college.
