[ 2010 ]

Her eyes shifting between both parents who hovered nearby not wanting to cause her any more distress. Newly shifted wolves tended to be a bit more not on the reigns of the understanding that you're there to help them not attack them no matter who they knew you were. Alistar stood in front of his wife, a protective measure coaching his daughter to clear her mind and picture land in a verticle position with the dirt just beneath her feet. It was the only way she'd shift back into human form. Atleast that what he thought. Elise was prepared to clothe her back up, as she ripped through the simple outfit she had worn that day.

"Come on bug, relax for me" his voice invading her thoughts. She flenched at the feeling of something tethering at her head almost as if she was willing to a command, but she hadn't given in to the will. Closing her eyes she pictured her closet where she'd always go for quiet during her anxiety attacks growing up. The walls had been painted black for the effect of being alone for the peace of mind she needed. She counted back from one hundred allowing her right paw to grip at the earth. She heard herself whisper.

"Change back Celes" as she neared the last five numbers, exhaling feeling everything shift back to something familiar. She felt dirt at the palm of her hands and but not her feet. She looked around and rose to her feet hearing her father speak to her but his lips did not move.

Impossible he said a bit taken aback by her choice not to will towards him, but to herself.

It was impossible that any wolf, especially a new one wouldn't will to the command of any Alpha. It was impossible especially given the fact that she was his bloodline. He looked to his wife for some logic. She was his. He smelled his scent on her from her birth to her everyday life. So that wasn't in question. It was almost certain that through the elders she'd be of a wolf and a witch bloodline, but that it wouldn't conflict seeing as the witch bloodline created them particularly Elise's ancestors. Mortal enemies, yet the power of the tongue is how wolves even made it here. That was a story for another day. Right now he needed to figure out what was severing them.

"Celeste how did you do that" Elise shuttered in her stance. She hadn't even used her magic as she planned to clothe her daughter, she seemed to clothes herself. Alistar looked at his wife confused at what she was getting at.

Celeste rose from the dirt, dusting her hang against the sweatpants she pictured from he closet only seconds before.

"I just counted to backward like I do in my closet" she sniffled.

"No, baby how did you get those on you. I didn't do that Alistar" Elise said worriedly. There was already a lot to explain with being a wolf but now to go into the other portion of what was happening. She didn't want to overcrowd her daughter's mind with new fears and a lack of normalcy.

"I just pictured it all" tears now visibly streaming down her cheeks. Alistar quickly picked her up in his arms holding her close. His expression softened as he heard his daughter break down in his arms.

It nearly broke his heart. Elise knew to give them their space, after all, she hadn't gone into her arms, she ran into her husbands like always. Both of them did whenever they needed to feel safe. And oftentimes that's when Alistar turned into a big teddy bear. His girls were his life and if anything happened to them he'd lose his mind. Seeing his little girl like this was something no one could prepare him for. He was told that this would be around the time she'd witness love and heartbreak and he'd have to be there to fix all the pieces, but to feel some guilt in her recent heartbreak hadn't felt good at all. He kept something from her and she probably told him everything.

"Daddy, what's wrong with me" she sniffled as her grip tightened around his neck. He rubbed her back as he used the other to open the door head up the stairs with her. Once they had gotten into her room he sighed.

"Nothing is wrong with you ladybug, I'm sorry for keeping this part of the world from you" he laid on the bed still keeping her at his chest.

"I thought the wolf was going to hurt you" her doe-like eyes peered up at him as she sniffled.

That's what triggered her shift. He sighed. She shifted out of fear and protection. He never wanted this day to come where his daughter would have to worry about him and his safety. This was going to end completely wrong because he knew that today was just a precursor of what she could do. In a moment where most fathers would be embracing this moment, he just wanted to erase it. He didn't want this life for her. Not with every side being at war with something bigger than them.

"Eli, was there to protect you and your mother" he watched her eyes shift into so many questions.

"You guys have the same eyes" she murmured, feeling her calm off into a relaxed state as he continued to rub her back for comfort.

"Your eyes are different than ours, and I don't know why. I don't know how you tapped into your magic" he murmured feeling her chest slowly heave in and out as she cried herself to sleep.

"Magic" she let out in a muffled sighed that held every bit of energy she had left in her to even try to understand what was going on. Her eyelids getting a bit heavy as she let go of thinking and drifted off into sleeping.

That night evening her watched his little girl go from oblivious to scared and lost in a world that wanted her dead.
