FORMAL GREETINGS

DARK MESSY CURLS WERE SPRAWLED across the emerald green pillows Xavier rested his head upon. It was early, the first glares of the sun were peeking out from the horizon, chasing away the darkness and stars.

          He slowly turned to his back. His eyes were wide awake, yet his mind was slow and sluggish.

          Xavier hadn't gotten an ounce of sleep. His father had talked to him through his conscience throughout the night, whispering of the plans and schemes he has in mind. The tugging in the back of Xavier's brain made him restless.

          Xavier rolled out of bed and changed into his Slytherin robes. His other two roommates, were still asleep, so Xavier decided to wake them up.

          And it was weird.

          "Wake up." He slapped Draco's face before moving to do the same to Blaise. "If you two aren't up by the time breakfast is over, I'll hex you both for causing me any inconvenience."

          The two boys grumbled incoherently before sliding out of bed. They also changed into their robes before trailing behind Xavier for breakfast. They followed the Hufflepuff's into the Great Hall. The enchanted ceiling above them echoed Xavier's mood; it was a miserable rain-cloud grey.

          With a whoosh and a clatter, hundreds of owls came soaring in through the upper windows. They descended all over the Hall, bringing letters and packages to their owners and showering the breakfasters with droplets of water; it was clearly raining hard outside.

          Xavier never got a letter from his father━━not that it was needed since they were able to 'communicate' in their own way. He was only asked about through Draco's letter and it was usually by Narcissa.
