My morning was spent getting our nails and hair done, and as if that wasn't enough, I had to go shopping for a new dress and heels. The girls forced me to have a spa day with them in preparation of going out tonight,

It's not as though I didn't want to go, I'm just not used to spending time and energy on myself. I'm not one to need much and I just feel weird about doing all this new stuff. I don't want people to fret over me.

I'm really appreciative that they felt the need to do this for my birthday, but it just makes me feel awkward. I forgot to mention, they didn't let me pay for a single thing either.

So now we are sitting at lunch talking about anything and everything, just sitting and having small talk in this cute little cafe.

Having spent some more time with Bell, I can tell that she is such a down to Earth person. She seems to always be smiling and she has a very optimistic outlook on the world.

I wish I still looked at the world that way. Like your whole life is still ahead of you, having something to look forward to. I'm just a bit envious of her.

Bell speaks very highly of her family. She was raised in Ireland, but moved to New York last year with her brother. He actually owns Explicit. Apparently he was back in Ireland for some business for the past couple of days, which explains why I haven't seen him around.

It's been refreshing to talk to Bell and get to know her, while also reconnecting with Delilah. We lost touch for a long time, but since I have been back, it's like no time has really passed.

I am pulled out of my thoughts as the conversation becomes directed at me.

"So how's it been in that department for you?" Bell questions.

"I'm sorry?" I state trying to hide my embarrassment for not paying the slightest bit of attention.

"Boys, or should I say men." Delilah sighs while raising her eyebrows up and down suggestively.

Sighing I comment, "I have really only ever had one boyfriend and after that I told myself no more. No more commitment for me."

"What made you decide that?"

"We weren't really compatible, in almost every way." I shrug back.

"What does having nothing in common have to do with your refusal to commit?" Delilah questions.

"In the end it was mutual. We had absolutely no connection in the bedroom. He was too vanilla and not willing to try anything new and he said I was too much for him. We went our separate ways and after that I decided that relationships were just too much work for me."

"So one bad relationship and you are willing to forbid them forever." Bell looks at me as if I went mental.

Delilah wraps an arm around my shoulder pulling me into her. "That just equates to as many one night stands as you can handle. I live by the philosophy of one and done"

Delilah always knows how to bring out a good laugh. Conversation stays light for the rest of our meal and as we make our way back to Delilah's apartment.

I was instructed to sit down and shut up as the girls were going to get me ready.

"I was thinking a dark, sultry look would go really good with the outfit." Bell says as she sits in front of me just looking me over.

"You are creeping me out." I state while pushing her arm and knocking her off balance.

"I'm gonna curly your hair and do a half up, half down look. Sexy, but classy." Delilah states while plugging in the curling wand.
