Chapter 2

Michi-San and Saira arrived at (Galaxy Models Group) the model company where Saira's mother works. Michi-San led Saira to the office where Saira's mother was waiting for her, and on their way to the office, some people who walked past them kept congratulating Michi-San. Saira did not understand until they bumped into her mother's colleague, friend, and makeup artist instructor (Nani Ogawa), the one who Saira stayed with at the time when her parents were divorcing.
▫️Nani-San: "Congrats Michi-Chan! I heard that Kohana-Chan is going International! Finally, she had made her dreams come true, and your pocket is extending  (smirk) good for you guys! I'm so happy for you~" Nani hugged Michi tightly, then noticed Saira.
▫️Nani: " eeeeh!! Saira-Chan?!! Eeeeeh!!! Is this Saira-Chan?!!! Oh my God!!!! It has been such a long time!! (hug tightly) uwaah!! You have lost some weight!" said while turning Saira around and her eyes analyzing Saira's face and body.
"Good good for you. A little bit more and you will look like your mother... No wait, (got closer to Saira) I can see your father's genes on you too, well whatever his genes will make you, even more, prettier than your mother, since your dad has a foreign gene on him."
▫️Saira: "....Thank you?" Saira thanked Nani and smiled awkwardly. Nani laughed at Saira's awkward smile and the way she thanked her.
▫️Nani: "What is that! Are you asking me Saira-Chan! Hahaha, be a little bit confident girl! I'm telling you the truth! You are beautiful, so be confident, be confident, you can do it! " said while patting on Saira's shoulder, then looked at her watch.
▫️Nani: "Oh! I should go now! Oh! Right! Saira-Chan, jdjdbsusksjsjsjsbdhdudndndjdndjdjksnsnndjdjd (talked so fast). Let's have some dinner together or something later on, ok?, Later~~"
Saira looked at Nani as she went on her way.
▫️Saira: "Nani-San is sure has become more energetic than before, and I couldn't understand what she said just now."
▫️Michi: "Me too, well, I think it's all thanks to "love" " said Michi while smiling faintly.
Saira turned to Michi.
▫️Saira: " heeeh~ so Nani-San has got herself a boyfriend."
▫️Michi: " Yes, well, you can say a fiancee or shall I say a husband to be? Well, anyway, she is actually preparing for her wedding. When did she say the wedding is happening again??" Michi kept trying to remember while walking, however, she didn't seem to be able to remember.
▫️Michi: "Aaah~ I forgot, my head is filled with your mother's work"
▫️Saira: " I see. I should prepare a gift for her and congratulate her the next time I see her."
▫️Michi: "Yes, please do. She will be so happy because it's from you, Saira-Chan!"

Michi and Saira arrived at the office. Michi opened the door.
▫️SM(Saira's mother): "Saira-Chaaaaaan (hugged tightly), my precious babyyyy~~~ it has been so long! Are you hungry?? Do you want to eat? Let's go to the restaurant. The company has opened a restaurant on the 12th floor." Saira's mother did not give Saira any chance to say anything and dragged Saira right away to the newly opened company restaurant. Saira got used to her mother's way of welcoming her because that's what her mother always does once she sees her. She would hug her tightly, load her with gifts, and she would always talk about her past days and the things she wants to say, and she usually would keep ordering so much food and would keep rumbling and mumbling, and asking Saira about school and random stuff when she hesitates to tell Saira something.
Saira and her mother sat at a vacant table when Saira's mother was about to order Saira interrupted her.
▫️Saira: "Mom, just order enough food for both of us. No need to order the whole restaurant."
▫️SM: "But they have lots of good food here!"
▫️Saira: "Mom, you don't have to act like that, just tell me whatever you are planning to tell me."
Saira's mother tried to hide her hesitation and intention with a smile, however, she smiled awkwardly.
▫️SM: " What are you saying? It's not like that at all! The food looked really good, do you want to order something?" spoke with an awkward high note voice.
▫️Saira: "Don't try to act, you are bad at it."
Saira's mother looked troubled.
▫️SM: "A am I that bad?!" Saira nodded her head. Saira's mother laughed awkwardly then ticked her tongue.
▫️SM: "tsk. I should have told your father to teach me some acting skills before divorcing him..."  Saira stared at her mother's face and analyzed her mother's facial expression.
▫️Saira: "Is it about dad?"
▫️SM: "How did you know?!"
▫️Saira: (Your longing eyes always sold you whenever you want to talk about him) said Saira in her inner thoughts. "I just guessed, so you really were going to talk about dad? What about him?"
▫️SM: "Is that so? Well... You see... Saira-Chan you know your father will always love you, and that fact will not change no matter what happens, and..." Saira interrupted her mother.
▫️Saira: "Mom, what's going on?"
Saira's mother hesitated for a while, but then she took out an invitation card from her bag and handed it to Saira.
Saira took it from her mother, and when she read it, she kept silent and kept looking at the invention card.
▫️SM: "Yo your father is getting married...He called me and told me that he wanted to tell you personally on the phone or come and see you, however, as you know he is busy filming and he kept missing the timing since there is a big-time difference, and he was worried that you would be in class or busy. He also said that if your free you can go to him to the USA, he will prepare the tickets and the security for you. Isn't it great! You can go on holiday or something and have fun there! He wanted to introduce his...his wife? (laughed) it's weird to say that, but anyway, you know I heard she is a good woman."
Saira sighed.
▫️Saira: "I heard that you two always in touch, friendly, and talked a lot with each other. Therefore, I thought you were going back together. Mom what's going on?!" Said Saira confused.
▫️SM: " Well you know, of course, we are in touch and we always talk about you and..."
▫️Saira: "You still love him, don't you?!"
Saira's mother looked at Saira and smiled faintly.
▫️SM: "Actually, we loved each other and we still love each other, and our love proof is that we had you!" said with a smile.
▫️Saira: " Drop that what am I? A love certificate?!"
Saira's mother laughed.
▫️SM: " You can say that... Saira-Chan, loving each other does not mean that we suit each other. We both think that our relationship now is good. Now we even have become best friends! Also, we always wish each other the best and we will always support each other."
Saira couldn't understand their love, and couldn't say anything, since that's how her parents feel and think of each other.
▫️Saira: " I see... If both of you are alright with it, then I guess all well and good. Then, what about her?"
▫️SM: " Oh! Do you mean your stepmother to be?! She is ok with it too! Actually, she is also a divorcee, so she understands. Her name is Ren Jayden. She is mixed, half Japanese and half American. Isn't that cool! Oh! And she has a son. He is 1 year older than you. His name is Oliver, and he models from time to time. Isn't that great?! You have an older brother now!"
Saira sighed.
▫️Saira: " I'm speechless. Stepmother?! don't tell me that, it feels weird, and you don't have to tell me everything about them in detail, cause I'm not interested and I don't care. Anyway, tell dad I'm not coming cause I have an entrance exam."
▫️SM: " Then what about after the exams?!"
▫️Saira: "Don't want to, I don't feel like going. Besides I want to spend some time with you."
▫️SM: "hmm... I don't think that is possible, cause as soon as you finish your exams I have to leave for London. Oh! Right! I haven't told you yet I..."
▫️Saira: " I know, heard the news from some people while coming. You're going international now. Congratulations."
▫️SM: " Thank you~ so to tell you the truth I asked Nani-Chan if she could look after you, however, now she is preparing for her wedding and her wedding is happening after your exams, so she recommended me her best friend since school days and..."
▪Saira: "STOP ✋..." ( So all the things she(Nani) told me before going was about this, hah) said in her inner thoughts. " Mom, I don't think I need to stay with anyone. I mean it makes no difference, right?! and I'm not 5 years old child"
▪SM: "That's true. However, Saira-Chan, this time I'm not sure when I will be back."
▪Saira: " No need to worry the apartment is well secured, isn't it?!"
▪SM: "That is also true. However, Saira-Chan... I wanted you to stay with a family...so that they could fill up the things which I couldn't fill it for you, and so that you could spend the times that I couldn't spend with you." said with a worried sad voice.
▪Saira: "Mom, I understand. However, do you think... (do you think that those times could be replaced or filled up with some other people) said in her inner thoughts. Saira did not want to say what's in her mind because she was afraid to hurt her mother's feelings.
" Anyway, I don't want to. I'm doing fine by myself."
▪SM: "Saira-Chan, please~ I think you will have so much fun, don't you think so?!"
▪Saira: "I'm having fun with myself."
▪SM: " Saira-Chan~~ please~ pretty please~
I'm always worried about you. I always think what if Saira-Chan gets sick and nobody there? what if something occurred and nobody could help you. I always think about that when I'm working, so I can not really focus on work, and..."
▪Saira: " Ok Ok, I'll go"
▪SM: "Really?! you are going?!"
▪Saira: " sigh, yes"
Saira's mother hugged Saira tightly.
▪SM: "Oh, thank you, my gorgeous lovely baby. you are the best. I can have peace of mind now."
