Mina's grip on the table loosened, and she sank painfully to the floor, her back resting against the couch as silent tears spilled down her cheeks. Why? How could Mom and Dad have done this? Her breath hitched as she recalled their lies—their false assurances that they didn't know where Taehyung was.
She had spent two agonizing days searching for her older brother, only to find out her parents had known all along. Sold off? The words echoed in her chest, a sharp ache that refused to dull. How could they betray him like that?
"Why?" she whispered, her voice cracking as she looked up at her mother with tear-filled eyes. "Was it because we didn't have any money? That you had to do something so... so disgusting—selling your own son?"
Her outburst shifted her mother's expression from guilt to something harder—anger.
"Listen, sweetie," her mother said firmly, voice trembling as tears welled in her eyes. "We didn't sell Taehyung because we were poor—we're not. We did it because our lives were on the line. We had no choice."
Mina stared in disbelief. Did they forget? He was their son.
"I didn't even get to surprise him on his birthday. We were supposed to spend the day together," Mina choked out, covering her face with trembling hands as bittersweet memories flooded her mind. Sobs wracked her body.
"I'm sorry," her mother whispered, reaching out, but no apology could erase the betrayal Mina felt deep in her heart. The bond she shared with Taehyung was everything, stronger than anything else.
"I don't want your apology," Mina said, voice firm despite the tears. "I want to know who you sold him to. Tell me—who is this person?"
The fire in her eyes made her mother flinch, but she shook her head, fear flashing across her face. "I can't. It's too dangerous. You don't understand—there are criminals involved."
Frustration boiled inside Mina. How could she find Taehyung if her own mother refused to speak? She stood abruptly, ready to leave, when her mother's hand shot out, gripping her wrist tightly and spinning her around. Worry etched deep into her face.
"Please, Mina..." she pleaded softly, trying to calm her daughter.
Mina pushed the hand away and glared, refusing to back down. "Then tell me."
Her mother hesitated, licking her lips before finally whispering the truth. "We sold him to a mafia's son. I don't know much about him—just that he's the son of Mr. Jeon. He threatened both me and your father."
Mina frowned, thoughts racing back to the day Taehyung vanished. Hoseok hadn't given her any answers either.
"Guess I'll have to wait until Hoseok figures this out," she muttered, turning away and heading upstairs, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on her.

"I don't trust him," Yoongi says flatly, making both Jimin and Hoseok look his way. His tone is cold, eyes narrowing at Jimin. He still can't understand how Jimin is getting information about Taehyung so easily — and it bothers him.
Jimin scoffs, clearly annoyed. "Hyung... remember how you waltzed into my house like you owned the place? Ignored everyone like they weren't even there? Yeah. How about you excuse yourself outside now?"
Yoongi steps forward, jaw tight. "Listen here, you—"
"Yoongi," Hoseok cuts in, sharp. He gestures toward the door. "Leave us alone."
Yoongi's glare lingers on Jimin before he turns and walks out, muttering under his breath. He knows whatever mess they're about to dive into, he wants no part of it.
