"You ever slow danced before?"

"No."

"... Wanna learn?"

"... I mean sure some day. I need to know how so I don't embarrass myself at my wedding."

"You, getting married? That's funny. I can just imagine your long arms in a tuxedo, you'd look so cute babe! ... Alright now let's dance. Come to me and place your hands on my hips."

"But I- okay. Only one dance though."

"That's all I ask for, crazy feet."

"...Seven nicknames and counting. Anything else?"

"No, you fucking sentimental."

"But you love it though."

"That I do, OT. That I do..."

Ruby's POV

OTIS' AWKWARDLY LONG CHILDREN were probably fermenting in me by now, but I couldn't find it in me to give two shits when I now knew I had competition with Maeve. I mean it's not like I'm in love with him or anything, but he's you know sensitive, and kind, and sweet, and funny...

And I'd hate to see him lose those qualities if he got hurt.

Besides, I've fucked him enough times for him to be mine. There's no way he's going to escape me that easily.

"Mate, do you see that? Some bloke, fucking loverboy's standing outside of our room like a creep. I bet he's waiting for Maeve, but jokes on him she's not in this class!"

All around me voices circulated as they questioned one thing. Why Otis "loverboy" Milburn patiently stood outside of my classroom until the bell rang. If I wasn't annoyed by the gossip, I'd honestly say it was pretty sweet. He looked so cute shuffling there awkwardly on his feet back and forth before pretending to play on his phone.

When the bell rang, I took my sweet time packing up my belongings before confidently sauntering towards Otis. Everyone went quiet and not a single thing could be heard from that instance except for the sound of me pecking a gobsmacked Otis on the cheek.

"Well, are you guys done staring?" I snapped at the nosy crowd. Everyone turned away from me then, just to erupt the halls in gossip as everyone wondered why I, Ruby Matthews, pecked Otis of all people. I ignored the chaos though, and forcibly pushed my way through with Otis in hand.
