*SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3*

*I CHANGED THE CASE FROM THE SHOW*

*TW: SECOND HAND EMBARRASSMENT*

*POV JJ*

The BAU was dealing with a case involving a man who used his young son to lure women so he could kill them. His signature was cutting their hearts out and leaving them wrapped in tarps. We found where the son lived and went to his house. Emily offered to go in and try to see what was going on. She found her way into the basement where the women were being murdered, but she was caught off guard. The unsub hit her over the head with a plank of wood but wasn't able to knock her out.

Her gun, however, was thrown to the side

Her gun, however, was thrown to the side. The son came in, curious as to what was causing the noise. His dad tossed him the gun and told him to shoot her. The little boy was hesitant but did as he was told.

We all heard the gunshot from outside so we moved in

We all heard the gunshot from outside so we moved in. We found Emily tied up to a wooden beam in the basement. Her shirt was ripped open and there were lines drawn along her body. I helped her down,

"He's getting away. You have to go find him." Her chest was heaving as she spoke.

"Which way did he go?" I asked, untying her wrists.

"I couldn't tell. Ahh," she flinched, "He made his son shoot me."

"Shit," I tried to be more careful as I moved her, "Hotch we need a gurney! GSW to the stomach!"

"Got it." Hotch ran out to get a medic.

I wanted to make sure Emily got to the hospital in one piece, so I rode with her in the ambulance. She got through surgery all right and they got the bullet out. We all visited her in her room a few days later.

"Heyyy!" Garcia was the first to show up, "How's my girl doing!!"

"She's doing just fine." Emily groaned as she tried to sit up in the bed.

"Be careful. Premature movement could lead to more severe scarring and long term back pain." Reid said, walking into the room.

"Thanks for the heads up, Spencer." Emily laughed a little.
