Noah's POV

Ever since Lia said that she wanted to find the real killer. I have been trying my utter best to calm down but the guilt is biting me in the ass. But nevertheless, I still came up with the perfect plausible evidence and explanation for her to believe who the real killer was. Can't let guilt get in the way of our relationship right now, no matter how badly it's killing me inside. These months I have tried to forget about it. I tried to forget about killing the love of my life's family and I'm succeeding. But when Lia brought it up last night, I froze. I had my mask on. I don't want her to read any of my emotions or thoughts.

I sat in my office all morning trying to come up with the evidence to show Aurelia later. Best to get it over and done with so that we can move pass this. I really never thought that I would actually love her so much. I've seen her pictures before approaching her and trust me when I say those pictures couldn't do justice to her beauty. She is absolutely stunning. A freaking Greek Goddess and she doesn't even know it. I would do anything. And I mean anything to stay by her side. Even though I know one day, it'll bit me in the ass. One day, all my sins will catch up to me. I hope it never comes but that's not possible because there's always a price to pay for everything, good or bad.

Around 11, I headed to the conference room for a meeting with the board of directors. A bunch of men who are definitely older than me and could be my father. The meeting was basically about how to increase our profits for the new year and a bunch of HR stuff and shit. At first, these old men didn't really trust someone so young than them to take the place of CEO. But after a few weeks of being here, in charge, they changed their minds and now accept me wholly. The meeting dragged until it was almost noon. My favorite time of the day. Because my beautiful girlfriend would be bringing lunch and we would eat together in the office. I honestly don't know how this all started, her bringing lunch to my office and eating together, but I'm not complaining, she's gonna be going back to classes soon and definitely won't be having so much time to come over and have lunch.

I quickly shoot her a text.

Hey babe. Just give me 5 more mins. I'm finishing up a meeting. You can wait in the office for me.

And just in another five minutes the meeting ended but Lia wasn't there yet when I went back to my office so I decided to do some work.

"Noah!!" Aurelia ran to me as soon as she saw me sitting at my desk and looking at the laptop seriously.

"Hey, Lia." I said without bringing my gaze to her. She saw that I was busy doing something that involved a bunch of numbers so she backed off because she hates anything that involves too many numbers, of course, my bank account is an exception. She hugged my neck and gave me a small kiss and opened the lunch box she prepared for me. She brought a fry and stuffed it into my mouth and I gladly bit on it.

"Thanks Lia. Just gimme a sec." I said.

"Alright." She took a fry and put it into her mouth thinking that I wouldn't be able to see but I did. Damn this women. Aurelia went to sit in the chair in front of my desk reserved for clients or any private business meetings held in my office. She sat there and watched me intently.

"Okay! I'm done. Let's have lunch." I put my laptop on sleep and went to stuff my face with fries.

"Noah?" She said, still looking at me.

"Yeah babe?" I said grabbing the sandwich and biting it.

"You look hot when you're doing serious work." She confessed.

"Well, thanks baby. You can keep looking. This –" I gestured to my whole body. "is all yours."

"Don't let it go to your ego, asshole." She rolled her eyes.

"Eat babe." I took her food out from the bag and gave it to her.

"Okay." She eyed me playfully but still went to dig in. We sat in comfortable munching silence until I broke it.

"Aurelia?" I said, breaking the silence.

"What?" She answered.

"Why so snappy?" I said trying to delay what I'm about to say.

"I'm not." She said.

"You are." I pouted.

"Noah, what is it my dear boyfriend?" She sweetly asked, faking her smile.

"I have something to say." I said, seriously.

"Well, what is it?" She stopped eating.

"I found the killer and why he wanted to kill your father."

"Well..?" She pressed.

"He was involved in human trafficking. You guys went to Seoul and all those times when he wasn't there, he was out drugging girls and wanting to ship them all over the world. The girls he always brings home are all drugged and from the underground trafficking ring. He wasn't a good guy Lia. Your mother and brother just so happen to have witnesses the killer and he killed them too, not wanting to leave any witnesses behind." I said one shot.

"But he didn't kill me. At least, he thought that he killed me. He did aim at me and shoot and a bunch of time and it hit my abdomen." She said, scrunching her eyebrows.

"Yeah.. I guess you were lucky.." I trailed off.

Fuck this is so fucking hard. Because she's talking about me...

"But I didn't know my father was such a messed-up person. How could someone do that? Traffic a human and send them off like an item?" She said full of disgust. "Well, thank God he's gone though but at the price of losing my mother and father...."

"Hey.. hey.. Lia..." I immediately got up and went to her, afraid that she would break down again thinking about those memories. I sat on the sit next to her and pulled her onto my lap.

"Hey baby, talk to me. How are you feeling right now?" I cooed.

"I'm honestly fine, I guess? I'm lucky to be alive, it was a narrow escape. I hated my father and now he was gone and for a good reason too even though there are still other people like him out there but at least one down, maybe hundreds of girls would be saved. But I'm kinda torn up that all of this happened at the cost of losing my brother and mother. I miss them so much..." Aurelia laid her head on my shoulder and said. I felt my shoulder getting wetter. I caressed her letting her cry.

"It's okay baby. Let it all out." I pecked her forehead.

"Who's the killer?" She said softly.

"His name was Bryan Smith, age 28, a private assassin." I said. Bryan Smith didn't exist at all. Everything was completely forged. I had prepared a fake case file with everything important, photos, addresses, everything. The photo of Bryan Smith was photoshopped.

"Was?" She questioned.

"He's dead."

"Wha...how?"

"Car accident. Maybe his sins are catching up to him." Just like maybe mine are catching up to me.

"Ohh.." was all she said.

We sat like that for about an hour before Aurelia finally got up and said "Noah.. thank you.."

"What for baby?"

"For finding out who the killer is, why they wanted my father dead and for being here with me..."

"It's nothing baby. I would do anything for you."

"I finally have the closure and am ready to move forward." She said determinedly.

"I'm glad babe." I chuckled.

"I love you." She suddenly hugged me, kissing my neck.

"I love you too baby girl." I held on to her tightly, cherishing every moment, every embrace with her because I'm afraid that the next second she would hate me for what I did. I hope that day never has to come.
