Y/N's POV
"Hermione? Are you there?"
After a few seconds the ringing continues. I thought someone had picked up, since there was a long silence earlier. I roll my eyes. The woman on the other side told me to try again later, but little did she know I'd been trying every day for 2 years . Well, I'd already come this far. Might as well try again later. I hoped for Merlin's sake Hermione was okay. Ever since Hermione and I had gone to the park for Christmas she'd never contacted me, ever. And I was her's best friend! I was all she had.
I sighed for the 105th time, thinking about how clueless I was a week ago. It didn't matter anyways, I was already half way there.
The train horn sounded again. I looked outside. We were on a curved bridge, overlooking a really spectacular view. There was a body of water and lush greenery on the other side. I took the view in, sighing in pleasure as I excitedly awaited my arrival at Hogwarts.
I still couldn't believe Hermione was a witch, I couldn't believe I was one either! A week ago, I got my letter from an OWL! At first I thought it was some sort of joke or prank but it made sense. I heard about Hermione's endeavours from Hagrid who had visited me personally and it made me feel a lot better about the whole situation, knowing she was alive, although she was still doing stupidly dangerous things.
I looked around my cabin. My siamese, Fletcher, was perched on top of my bag. At first Fletcher resided on my lap, but after a while he got heavy so I shooed him away.
"Bloody ell!" I cursed as someone barged into my cabin. I jumped and Fletcher hopped off my bag and came to me. The person had long straight red hair and a black clip was lodged in one side of her hair.
"Uhm, sorry, wrong cabin..." She spoke awkwardly.
I thought for a minute. If I was going to be here, I might as well make friends, and even though I knew Hermione was in the same train, I was far too lazy to look for her.
"It's alright," Straightening myself, I spoke back, smiling. I scanned her face. She was so pretty, and her features were so..delicate. She looked like she'd be the nicest person ever. After a brief pause I spoke once again, this time, introducing myself, "Hi! I'm Y/N L/N ,and you are?"
She smiled and held out her hand. "I'm Ginny, Ginny Weasley," She said proudly as we shook hands. I tapped the seat next to me, inviting her to sit next to me.
"Sorry, but I've got to head back to my brothers, it was really nice meeting you though, see you around! Oh yeah, by the way, speaking of Ron, I think you'd like him a lot," She cheekily grinned and with that, she waved goodbye and left.
So much for making friends, and what was that about her brother? My thoughts were interrupted as the train slowed to a stop. I gathered my things and my cat and exited the train. Finally, here I was, Hogwarts.
And boy, was I going to love it.
