"How does it feel, Mia?" She heard Melissa's voice through the speakers right after the rain of humiliation suddenly stopped.
Waves of emotions overwhelmed her; rage, disappointment, and sadness. She wanted to scream so bad and stand up for herself, but she couldn't find the courage to do so.
Melissa faked a gasp, "What's the matter, Mia? Have you gone mute?"
Her remark made half of the crowd laugh. She felt so humiliated.
Trembling with tears threatening to pour, she looked around. Everyone was mocking her, making faces and even spitting insulting words at her while laughing.
Mia couldn't hold back her tears anymore, so she ran. She ran as far as she could, away from everything that had hurt her behind.
She found herself inside one of the stalls in the girls restroom, crying her heart out. For the first time in her life, the dimly lit room she was in provided her the comfort that she longed for. She didn't care about anything, or anyone around to hear her cry, her life has been all messed up because of Melissa and her friends anyway.
For years, she never told her parents about being bullied at school. She always kept everything to herself. But right now, this was too much for her so she finally let it all out.
By the time she had made up her mind, she stood up and went to face the rectangle shaped mirror hanging on the wall.
I'm tired of living like this, I'm tired of being nice.
Mia balled up her fist and bent down to wash her tear stained cheeks when she felt a throbbing headache and fell down on the tiled floor.
She was used to having slight headaches before, but this one was different. It felt like her brain was being squeezed and what terrified her was the blood coming from her nose.
As the pain in her head got worse, she kept hearing faint voices in her head, whispering things at her. She couldn't understand the words at first, but the words that she heard before she passed out was utterly horrifying.
Don't worry, they shall get what they deserve....
