A/N: I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS CHAPTER GUYS AAAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHA YAAY

I LOVE SOFT HONGSEOK SM~

OKAY OKAY LET'S GO

Zoey POV:

"Hongseok I'm not going with you."

"Why not?! It's not a big deal."

"PRETENDING TO BE YOUR GIRLFRIEND ISN'T A BIG DEAL?! "

"NO!!" Hongseok retalitates, crossing his arms and flopping down onto my bed. Hongseok, at this moment, was the biggest idiot I've ever met on the face of the planet. But usually he acts like my best friend of 4 years.

I sigh and flop to the floor, crossing my legs to sit. "Hongseok I just don't know how this is going—"

Hongseok springs from on top of the bed, "Come on Zoey the fair is in THREE HOURS!! And I told the people that'd I'd bring a girl with me. If I show without a girl I'm a goner."

"Should've thought about that before you said you'd bring someone," I sass, picking off the chipped red polish decorating my fingertips.

Hongseok grabs my hands gently and lifts me to stand with him. His eyes shine as they look into mine, and I feel my heart quicken under my shirt. "Zoey...please just pretend to be my date."

I mentally bite my lip. Hongseok absolutely DESERVED to be trashed by his guys. But, I couldn't let him get teased beyond belief and know I was the one who could've prevented that. Not because I'd hate to see Hongseok made fun of, I just didn't want that type of guilt on my conscience.

I shift my eyes to remove themselves from his heart-stopping gaze, "fine, I'll go with you..."

~time skip to the fair wooo hooo~

"Aye there's Hongseok!"

"And look! He actually got himself a date!" A man, who I recognize as his friend Hyojong teases, leaning over to quickly kiss a blonde haired, fairly skinned woman on his left.

Hongseok smiles and wraps his fingers around mine, almost making me stiffen and slap him off me—but then I remember I'm supposed to be his girlfriend. So instead of brutally beating him into a bloody pulp, I lean into him, and give him a very small, brief peck on the cheek. Hongseok turns to me and smiles. His shining teeth saying he loved what I just did, but his eyes bulge in shock because of my actions.

"Meh meh Love shmove—can we get outta the entrance now?" Wooseok whines and throws his arms back above his head. Hongseok looks at me and leans in close, "he doesn't have a date."

My eyelids rapidly blink in confusion. Wooseok doesn't have a date—but yet, no one is saying anything. So then why did I have to come?

I'm left with little time to think, as Hongseok sees an ice cream stand, and drags me to run with him to the front. A man, with a dark skin and a few dark spots on his face, asks us what we'd like. Hongseok, being the gentleman he is, orders an ice cream for him, and a crepe for me.

Hongseok thanks the man for the treats, and hands me my crepe while hurriedly licking the dripping portion of his ice cream, trying his hardest not to let anything drip. I laugh at him and hit him on his arm. Watching Hongseok desperately try to keep his ice cream in the cone was like watching someone try to put an elephant in a tea cup—pure struggle.

Hongseok hears my laugh after and recreates my smile on his face, trying to hold in his laughter as he licks his ice cream.

"Alright now lovebirds! Let's go!" Hui eye rolls, a woman a bit younger than me smiling while by his side. Brown wavy hair cropping at her shoulders, and almost staggering over Hui.

Every muscle in my body jolts at his words. I know we were only pretending, but...right now everything felt to real. Like if we tried, we could actually pull this off. If we both committed, Hongseok and I might actually have a shot at dating each other. But—my best friend? Of four years? It just seemed.....odd to me.

Hongseok finally gets his ice cream under control, and walks with me towards where the rest of the group is at. From then on we spend the rest of the day riding extreme rickety rollercoasters, the wind blowing past our faces as we scream at the top of our lungs. Having dumb contests to see who can scream the loudest. Of course, Wooseok one those. We also tried our fair share at games—lots of them. Eventually everyone one at least something, and I got Hongseok an iron man plushie because he said he really wanted one.

During the entire time we were at the fair, Hongseok was really, really sweet to me the entire time. Held my hands, made sure I was okay with what everyone was doing before going along with it, and buying me lots and lots of food. My favorite moment from this trip is when we went to get hot dogs. Hongseok and I had lady and the tramped it, and made a mess everywhere. Since it was my idea, I was obliged to buy new shirts for the two of us.

Honestly, I got caught up in the whole "couple act" to where I forgot I was acting. I forgot that after we left the fair our entire "date" would be a joke to us both. I can imagine it now, us sitting on my couch laughing while recalling the time we went on a fake date. I'd be laughing on the outside but on the inside—one the inside I'd be longing to feel wild and free with Hongseok again.

Which is why I can't let him go like this.

We wave goodbye to everyone, Hui and the brown haired girl, who's name I'd forgotten but I'd known started with an M, Hyojong and HyunA, and Wooseok by himself.

When Hongseok and I arrived in his car, I stopped him from opening the driver's side by stepping in front of him, blocking him from the handle. Hongseok's face frowns a bit, but he attempts to reach around me to pull on the handle again. This time I smack his wrist, and his winces in pain.

"What is wrong with you Zoey? You've been acting strange all day..."

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!!!"

Not a good move Zoey not a good move. It's okay, if he doesn't like you it'll only be one awkward car ride back home and you can go your separate ways if it's really that bad.

Hongseok huffs and shifts his weight to his back leg, licking the sides of his mouth in annoyance. "Zoey please just tell me what's wrong."

"Why did you really ask me to come?" I ask, looking up at him with a poker-face in attempt to keep my intentions hidden.

If my slight hunch is correct, Hongseok could've left without a date. Wooseok didn't show up with one, and he only got teased once before we all forgot about it and went on with the rest of the fair. Also, it seemed like he needed to bring me earlier today. Not so he wouldn't get teased, but because he genuinely felt like he needed to take me to the fair—like he really wanted to take me to the fair so, so bad, it couldn't wait any longer, and this "friend teasing" thing was a scheme to get me to come with him.

Or I could be thinking too far into this and making a huge, detrimental mistake to our relationship and possibly damaging it beyond repair.

Hongseok meets my eyes for a second, searching for any clue of what I'm really asking. Thankfully, he's left in the dark. Hongseok looks at the white line of the parking space, and softly kicks it like he can move it with his feet.

"Hongseok," I press, waiting for him to answer. Hongseok always believed that he could wait out awkward situations, and everything would fix itself.

"Cause I needed to take you okay?"

"That doesn't—"

"I wanted to take you with me—"

"—you wanted to take me on a date?" I finish, cutting him off briefly. Hongseok goes bright red for a moment, but then puts his face in his hands.

Muffled, but still heard he mumbles, "Yes, yes I did."
