What do you do with your back up against a wall?
I have this sinking feeling that you would just stay there and let shit happen.
But if I come around that shit is dead, I'm gone make sure you move.

"Aye, some say the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice. I say the darker the flesh then the deeper the roots." Keith rapped a long to his throwback music. " Princess, you don't know nothing about this right here," he moved his hand to the volume knob to turn it up. "This that good music right here, what y'all know about Pac."
It was a nice Saturday afternoon and the sun was nicely beaming down on the cars interior as the drop top was down and the car was parked in the mildly crowded parking lot. This was their thing and and Kirby was definitely a daddy's girl. It was almost like they lived in a castle and he was the king, her mom was the queen and she was their little princess.
Today was just like any other day, carefree and exciting. They were on their way to pick up the surprise gift for Joey. Her parents anniversary quickly crept around the corner and Keith was nervous yet still excited. I mean he got excited every anniversary—just because his wife gave him butterflies. He had everything for the most part he just needed to get a few extra items in order to execute his entire plan.
Truth be told, that's what Kirby admired about her dad. He loved hard an he wore his heart on his sleeve. Like right now the duo were on their way the their last stop before their excursions of the day ended. A few more minutes passed before Keith parked the car shortly after getting out.
Observing the bright sun from the back seat Kirby could help but feel at ease. Taking a moment to herself she slowly glided her head towards the headrest. In her head she couldn't help smile at today. Her mom would be ecstatic about her gift. This was the first time Keith included Kirby in the process of holiday shopping. So to say the least she was extremely excited.
A few moments later her dad re- emerged from the building with a medium sized box. It seemed to have a lot going on in the inside though...a blue bag, and orange folder and with great concentration she noticed a slight smaller white box in the corner. As soon as the box hit the passenger seat Kirby was up and at em, too curious for her own good. And too nosy to just sit back and vibe.
"Daddy why do you have so many things in the box for mommy? I thought we only had one more gift to get."
He chuckled slightly while glancing in the rear view mirror, " Oh trust me princess it all goes together and makes it one big thing." She just brushed it off not really understanding how that would work but trusted her dad enough to stop asking.
After moments in the car they finally arrived to their last destination. Well kind of.....it was the side of a random road. This caused Kirby to knit her eyebrows together as she pondered on what could've made her dad stop. She payed close attention as he removed his blackberry from the cup holder. Her eyes grew as he started to furiously type away on his little key pad. This was followed by an immediate phone call.
"What mannn?" She could vaguely hear chatter on the other end. "Are you serious, I do the best that I can and if that ain't good enough she can bounce!"
Kirby never knew what made him that upset. I guess it would forever remain a mystery.
Present Day
Kirby's POV
"Pax I gotta goooo, if I'm not off the phone in five minutes my dad is gonna have a problem." I laughed but I was actually serious. My dad did not play it didn't matter who it was. After I got home from my night with Oscar I honestly almost forgot to call him back but I saw a warning text from him come through. That quickly got me together.
"Mann tell em you on the phone with me, you know he ain't gone spaz over that." I tried so hard not to grin at what he said. My dad did really like him in all actuality. " Matter fact if he do Ima handle him ight?" This caused me to break out in laughter. Cause who does he actually think he is.
"Sir calm yourself, he could fold you in 2.5 seconds." I saw a flare of challenge spark in his eye. With a smirk to match it I knew he was about to say something slick again. " And don't say nothing with your big headed ass, you know it's true."
Things calmed down for a minute after we shared a laugh. Causing and awkward yet comfortable silence. "Damn I can't believe you're really gone, like...wow!" Almost like a reflex memories came flooding back in.
As my thoughts resurfaced I was left with a lingering question, why don't I have a lot of friends. I mean most of my memories consisted of just Pax, like I love him to death but why exactly is that the case. I know recent events in my life have been very off putting but in general was I just oblivious to that fact and inadvertently push people away. It would make sense just by observing out reaction and behavior towards this move alone. I genuinely don't think we were interested in making friends and we were fine with the status quo.
So maybe this move isn't all that bad and I can take this opportunity to venture out and make friends. Besides we've grown too dependent on each other and that's not a healthy attachment.
I noticed some time ago. But I decided to keep it to myself. I mean why mess up a good thing? Though this felt more like a stepping stone into a higher direction. It was like we were climbing up a mountain and we couldn't see the other side just yet. So I didn't know whether to trust this feeling or take caution in it.
"But I gotta go, I love you bubs."
"I love you too mama."
So just like that I eased into the rest of my night seamlessly, dosing off so a rerund of That's so Raven.
