Katara's POV:
Today is the first day of school. I wake up to the alarm I set on my phone. I yawn and stretch and get out of the warm bed. Then I go to the bathroom and take a warm shower. I water bend the water off of me and then brush my teeth. When I looked in the mirror, I notice that I have dark circles under my eyes. They were probably because of how late I went to sleep last night. It was warm outside so I put on my cut off shorts and a blue crop top and pack a sweater just in case. Then I realize that Sokka wasn't awake so I have to drag him out of bed so that he would wake up. He's such a baby, even though he's the older one.
I went downstairs and made myself a bowl of cereal. I ate it and waited for Sokka to be done with doing whatever he does that takes him so long. He finally came downstairs and made himself breakfast. Then we get our bookbags and run to school, hoping to make it there in time.
Aang's POV:
So many things happened last night. First off, I had a party; second, I invited everyone I knew; third, I kissed Katara. The third one was probably the most dramatic, but what's even more dramatic is that everyone saw! And I mean everyone. I was so embarrassed! That party went on 'till eleven pm and I only went to bed at one since Katara stayed a bit and we watched a movie together. Then she left, and I was alone again since Gyatso was out on a business trip.
This morning, I overslept a bit. My alarm didn't wake me-- or if it did, I went right back to sleep. Only a few minutes later did I realize that it's the first day of school. When my brain is done processing this realization I nearly topple out of bed. Fortunately, I grabbed the nightstand just in time to avoid hitting the floor, but I did hit something. I rub my head in frustration. I get out of bed and go to the bathroom. When I passed by Gyatso's room, I felt a pang of guilt for hosting the party since I promised him earlier that I wouldn't do that. It's fine, though. It's not like he's gonna find out, right? I made everyone at the party swear to not even mention it in front of other students.
In the bathroom, I brush my teeth and notice that I don't have enough time for a nice shower so I take a cold and short one instead. I water bend the water off of me and air bend my hair into place. I spray on some cologne and put on my black skinny jeans, a white T-shirt, and my plaid button up with an air nomad symbol on it. I grab my iPhone and run to the kitchen. I put three slices of bread in the toaster, two of which will be part of the sandwich I'm making myself for lunch. I quickly butter my toast and eat it. Then I make my sandwich and put it into a brown paper bag which I then put into my bookbag. I run outside and get on the nearest train since I live kind of far from school.
Katara's POV:
We got to school fairly fast and it's a few minutes before homeroom starts. Sokka's going into tenth grade and I'm going to eighth. Even though Aang is a year younger than me, he's a grade ahead so we're in the same grade. Toph is also in the same grade as us. Zuko is sixteen so he's in eleventh grade.
I see Aang coming up and I quickly run over to him.
"Hi, Aang," I say with a little wave.
"Hey, Katara," he says. I notice him blush. "About last night..."
I blush. "Yeah..." I say, my voice trailing off.
He hesitates before saying, "You can't tell anyone who wasn't at the party."
"I know, Aang," I reply, exasperated. That's it? No "Will you be my girlfriend, Katara?" or "I really like you," or "I had so much fun with you last night!" I've had a crush on him for years and I'm absolutely positive that he knows.
