chapter 3: sudden urges

i woke up the next day, my hair tangled from rolling around in the middle of the night. must of had a bad dream. 

i brushed my hair and put on my school uniform, looking in the mirror one last time. i didn't really have anyone to impress, so it didn't take me long to get ready. i ran down the stairs and grabbed half of a bagel off the dining table. 

"love ya mom," i said, walking out the door. 

"bye sweetie!," she said with a sweet smile and a little wave. i took a bite of the bagel and walked out to the driveway, to see hodaka standing there. 

"so, have you been feeling any sudden urges?" he said with a mischievous grin. i turned red.

"wha-ew! you're so horny." i scowled, he chuckled. 

"not really actually." 

I scoffed, "yeah right!"

"no-it's true. i don't need sex, all I really want is someone to cuddle with and play with my hair."

I froze. he kicked the ground. 

"are you talking about...you know, her?" I asked. 

"depends on who her is." 

"well, i know who you mean."

"you do?" he said with hoping eyes. i frowned. 

"why don't you just tell her?"

"well, we're really close. really close."

"and you don't want to ruin the friendship?"

"something like that." he said, looking at me. i broke our contact and begin walking down the sidewalk. he pattered behind me.
