Somebody kill me now.

Yes, the same Jason Tyler I've managed to avoid for over half a year now since that cafeteria incident last semester.

What? You thought I had a crush on him? Oh please, you're not even close.

Now, since you are the only human in this world who still hasn't heard of that incident, Well...

So I was there, minding my own business as usual-- my ear piece plugged in my phone as I listened to relaxing music while reading a book from Wattpad and taking small bites from my sandwich-- I had recently moved to Star High which was a public school with my sister since we could no more afford expensive school fees with all my bills piling up.

Anyway, I was alone because by then I had no friends. I was so deep into my spicy book when all of a sudden, I felt something really cold run down my face and body. It took me a moment to realise someone had poured their damned stupid drink all over me.

What did a poor girl like me do to deserve this? Nothing.

So like any reasonable person would think to do first, I raised my head to see who did that to me and lo and behold, that asshole was there, holding a now empty can of grape soda and staring down at me with his annoying friends beside him.

I stood up and looked down at myself; the grape soda, which may I add, was very violet was dripping from my dirty blonde hair and most had made its way into my white top already.

I seriously don't know why I even chose to wear white that day but this is not my fault. I glared at the asshole expecting him to let out an apology or something like any normal person would but who was I kidding.

"You shouldn't sit in the way like that" he said. I had to blink several times to confirm I didn't just imagine what I heard.

"Excuse me?"

So not only did he not apologize, he blamed me for it.

"He's not wrong, this is partially your fault so next time don't sit in the way like that" one of his other friends who was beside him added before they just walked away.

Just walked away!!!

Ok at this point, I was super pissed.

So this guy just dumped his soda on me, and instead of apologizing like a normal human being with a brain, they just spewed that nonsense and walked away? Leaving me, a very pissed off Julie, standing in the middle of the cafeteria with violet dripping off her hair, sliding into places drinks were not supposed to enter and every eye on her.

What can a helpless quiet girl like her do? After all, he was the star footballer of Star High and she was just the quiet new girl with no friends.

Oh they are wrong. What they didn't know was that this girl could be quiet, but she takes no nonsense.

Also, in my defence, that day was not a good day for me.

It was around the time we had lost that braindead patient because of an autopsy and all hope had been lost for me so me being the girl who has accepted her fate and no more feared death or anything in its relations, I picked up an apple from a nearby table and without thinking twice, aimed it directly at his head and threw.

I was glad I was able to hit my target - pretty hard - but there was a slight problem. This is the most rebellious I've ever been in my whole life so I had no idea what to do next when he suddenly turned around.

Saying he looked furious would be an understatement because just then, I could feel my hands begin to tremble.

You've got this Julie. Just turn and run.

But I couldn't bring my legs to do that instead I just stood there like a statue hoping he'd just let it go.

Who was I kidding?

He cussed taking long strides towards me. I could tell I was about to be punched in the face in any minute so by instincts, my eyes immediately closed when he was about a step too close and I winced waiting for the impact but the punch never came, instead I heard gasps all around me.

I took a peak only to notice a figure blocking me. And when I fully opened my eyes, it was Derrick. He was holding Jason's wrist as they glared at each other.

Well, to sum it all up, there was a huge fight in the cafeteria that day between that asshole and his friends and Derrick and his friends. That was also the first incident that got me my first and only detention ever since I stepped foot in Star High and honestly, I've never regretted that day;

So there are several reasons why I've never regretted what I did that day.

One: it was a once in a life's time experience

Two; that detention was from defending myself so it was fine.

Three; that's how Derrick and I became friends and I found out he also moved from St. Pauls a year earlier and he recognised me. Maybe that's why he came to my defence and I was thankful for that.

Four; There was no need to worry about about my detention ruining my records or anything like that because it doesn't matter. I was going to die soon anyway so how can it affect someone who no more exists.

And last but not least; the posibility of Jason and I being in the same class was extremely low because he was a Junior and I was in Sophomore so avoiding him will be easy and it was.

My initial plan was to avoid him probably till the day I die but hey, looks like that plan is not happening because now I was standing there staring at that same jerk in shock.

His eyes met mine but if he was surprised to see me too, he didn't show it. The scowl on his face just changed into a smirk.

A smirk that was scaring me.

"I'll go with Julie for the costumes." Derrick's voice brought me back into the room and I broke my gaze from Jason.

He had also noticed how scared I was at that moment.

Thank God.

My plan was to die tomorrow not today.

I really can't spend my last day with this guy.

"Rehearsals will be starting soon. I can't have both of you away"

"Then I'll go with him, Julie can stay" Derrick insisted but Miss Green shook her head.

"Julie isn't part of the play, you are. Plus, Jason here's car is free at the moment so it would only make sense if he went with Julie."

There was no arguing with that anymore. She made a point and any further argument will only bring unwanted attention and suspicions so I decided to just do it. After all, it won't be the whole day right?

"But-"

"It's fine I'll go with him" I said quietly and Derrick raised his brows.

"Ok, Good. So I already gave a list to Martin but knowing how careless he can be, I think it's better you have one too" Miss Green said walking away.

I stole a glance at Jason who was leaning by the door.
He smirked again before following Miss Green and I took a gulp.

What did I just agree to?

"I'll be fine" I whispered more to myself but also to Derrick before hurrying after them.

This is really gonna be a long day.
