"no! we aren't targeting her!" heejin shouted from her seat. sujin raised his eyebrow. "why not? why does it even matter to you?" heejin glared at him. "she's one of my best friends. i've known her since i've been in diapers and i'm not letting you guys murder her because of your stupid vendetta against that damn family." sujin groaned loudly. "it doesn't matter if she's your friend, you don't even have a say in this. you have no control over what we do." heejin looked over at her father with pleading eyes.
"fa-father. we can't target jiwoo. she's a really important person in heejins life and she's a really nice person trust me. she's slept over here, we've given her rides to school and other events. killing her with be like killing a family member." solhwan told sujin. sujin burst out in laughter. "you really let yourself get that close to a kim? you're calling a kim a member of this family? how stupid can you guys be?? there will be no futher discussion. we aren't changing anything and we will be targeting her."
heejin stood up from her seat. "fuck you actually. fuck ALL of you." she stormed out and ignored the calls for her name. she ran up to her room and slammed the door shut, leaning her back behind. how was she possibly going to look jiwoo in the face? how could she even look at any of there friends in the face? heejin brought her hand to her cheek and wiped the tears away. she heard knocking on the door. "go away!" she yelled.
"heejin it's me, solbin. just let me in." heejin sighed, opening her door. solbin walked in, closing the door behind her. "listen, i know this sucks but..you know they did this on purpose. they made it a company so that you have no control over it. because you're a girl. if this was a boy running the company they wouldn't have done this and you know that." heejin rolled her eyes. "i mean what the hell am i supposed to do? i can't go to school and talk to jiwoo knowing that she's going go get killed because of us!"
solbin bit her lip. "we're going to warn her." heejin crossed her arms. "isn't that breaking the rules?" solbin sighed. "do you want to save jiwoo or not??" heejin gulped. "fine. what is it?" solbin looked around. "i can't tell you here. they're probably looking through these cameras or listening in on our conversations so...tomorrow, i'll pick you up from school and tell you what we can do in the parking lot. jiwoo will be fine i promise."
"and if she won't? i won't just be hurting myself, i'll be hurting our friends! i'll fucking be hurting sooyoung. i can't...i can't do that to her. to them!" solbin took both of her hands. "heejin. it's going to be okay. we'll figure something out, we always have. you want to stay at hyunjins tonight?" heejin nodded. "please. i'm not staying here if grandfathers here." solbin nodded. "pack a bag, i'll drive you in a bit." heejin nodded, smiling.
heejin pulled out her phone and clicked on hyunjins contact.
"hey heejin!"
"i can stay over. please."
"yeah of course....family problems?"
"you have no idea. i'll try to tell you everything."
"i'll be in the living room waiting for you. just knock."
"okay thank you. love you."
"love you too bunny."
heejin smiled and hung up. she went over to her bed and started to pack somethings. once she was done and grabbed her things and put on some shoes. solbin waited for her downstairs, heejin walked up to her and smiled. "you have everything? toothbrush? pjs? uniform? backpack? phone?" heejin nodded, giggling. "yes." solbin smiled. "good, go wait in the car."
heejin nodded and walked out of the house. woohee walked over to her. "don't tell me you're helping run away." solbin sighed. "no. she's staying at hyunjins. she doesn't want to be here and honestly i don't blame her. now if you excuse me, i have to go." solbin grabbed her keys and walked out of the house. she opened the car door and sat in. heejin looked over at her. "what's wrong?" solbin started the car. "mother. that's what's wrong."
