Chapter 5: Boys

Perspective: Mads

Two days later, it was a Wednesday. I got up and got ready for school.

Mom: "Breakfast is on the table. My work schedule is different today so I made you pancakes! "
Mads: "My favorite!" I exclaimed.

And the story, Mad's sister, Riley won't be her triplet sister, she will be her younger sister who is a freshman in high school. Her brother will be older than her.

Riley: "Mom, me and Mads have to stay after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for dance practice. "
Mom: "Ok! That means Mads has to take you home because your brother doesn't end school until 4 o'clock. "

I got in my car, and Riley went with mom. I got to school and I Addison, Dixie, Charli, and Nessa.

Mads: "Hey, girls!"
Addison: "What's up!"
Mads: "Want to hang out at my place?"
Nessa and Addison: "YEAH!"

Josh, Jaden, Chase, and Noah walk out of the cafeteria to meet us.

Jaden and Chase: "Hey!"
Mads: "where is Bryce? "
Chase: "Bryce has allergies, and he might have a cold. So he is staying home today and tomorrow but he will be back Friday! "
Addison: "I hope he feels better by Friday!"
Jaden: "meds, do you want to hang out at my house? We can make popcorn and watch a movie. "
Meds: "sorry, but the girls are going to hang out at my house. It's kind of a girls day."
Jaden: "oh, OK. Maybe all of us can get together for my birthday on Sunday! You guys can come over Friday night, and we can spend the night until Sunday."
Mads: "that's an amazing plan! What if I come earlier to help you get set up? " I didn't want to be suspicious, but what I really meant was, "what if I come earlier for some alone time with you? "
Josh: "yeah, what if meds Josh: "yeah, what if Mads comes over earlier to see her boyfriend and flirt like crazy! "He teased

I was in shock to hear him say that! We liked each other, but we didn't want to "date" yet.

Jaden and Noah: they look at him in shock

We all stare at Josh. Jaden stares at me. I stare at NASA. NASA looks at Charlie. Charlie looks at Madison. Madison looks shocked at Josh. Everyone ends up staring at Josh and looks shocked after he said that!

Perspective: Jaden

Why would Josh say such a thing to me!? I know he's going to do something crazy in a minute. I just know it! You should have seen how mysteriously he smiles on Monday. I think back at that moment, and I say, "Josh, what is your plan? Tell me right now or else we won't be best friends anymore! "I say this in eastern, angry, sharp voice. Josh replies with the usual, "what plan? "We start arguing and the girls go somewhere else where they can't hear us arguing.
After we had a crazy argument about my "gf" I go to class.

During class

I walk into class, and I didn't want to sit by Josh. Instead, I sit by this boy.

Jaden: "Hello!"
Boy: "Hi! What's your name, dude?"
Jaden: "I'm Jaden, how about you?"
Boy: "The name's Nick."
Jaden: "It's very nice to meet you Nick."
Nick: " maybe we can have each other's numbers? I can tell we're going to be great friends Jaden! "
Jaden: " One of my friends is being an a*s hole, and I think you're the unproblematic type, right? "
Nick: " same! He always tries to be the popular kid, when he's just getting attention for being problematic. His name is Josh. "
Jaden: "You're friends with him? Me too! "

Class ends, and I decide to text Mads.

Jaden: Hey
Mads: what's up?
Jaden: nothing. How was class?
Mads: it was good.
Jaden: I met someone named Nick. He's pretty cool. He's very unproblematic, but he's friends with Josh.
Mads: oh, cool! Maybe he should join our friend group then! If he agrees, I can't wait to meet Nick!
Jaden: OK Mads, I'll see you at our next class together!
Mads: byeeeee!

I put away my phone and I see nick at the 200 building. I run over there and ask him if he wants to join my friends group.

Jaden: "NICK!"
Nick: "Hi Jaden, what's up?"
Jaden: "I was wondering if you wanted to join my friends group. You already know that I'm friends with Josh, there's this other boy named Bryce, but he's sick today. I'm also friends with a boy named Noah and sometimes we hang out with these girls named Mads, Harrison, Nessa, Charli, and another boy named Chase. "
Nick: "that's a lot of people, but sure! "
Jaden: "all right, do we have any classes together besides firstperiod?"
Nick: "yeah, I think we have fifth and sixth period together! "
Jaden: i'll see you there! You can find us outside of the cafeteria during lunch if you want to hang out. "

I go to my other classes and think about Mads some more. She is so pretty, and those eyes are amazing!
