"when is he showing up? i have people waiting for me." his sister held onto the hood of his sweatshirt promptly choking him anytime he moved forward.
"do you just want to walk there?" he rolled his eyes fumbling with the phone in his pocket.
ever since they woke up in the instance they had neither dream nor george went out of their way to text each other. they weren't avoiding each other, but they were definitely glad it was the weekend. unfortunately a high school football game sparked enough attention from both sapnap and his sister that he agreed to go, unaware until recently that sapnap had also invited both george and karl.
"if we walk we won't get there in time." she checked the time on her phone.
"i didn't know you were so popular, calm down, he'll be here soon." he rolled his shoulders to throw back her arm from the hood of his sweatshirt.
"how come you didn't go out with george yesterday?" she typed away on her phone only half interested in the conversation.
"we have other things to do." he turned from her, scanning the streets for sapnap's car. he would've just droven them himself if he knew sapnap was going to take this long.
"i'm guessing you mean george had things to do?"
"what?" he turned back to his sister, she clicked off her phone and looked back up at him.
"you didn't do anything but watch netflix and complain about how bored you were."
he rolled his eyes. yes, being away from george after all the conjoined time they spent together was not exactly entertaining, but could you really blame him? going from running from cops one day to laying on the couch petting a cat isn't a very fun downgrade. he missed george, he'd admit it, but also facing him after the situation they woke up in was not ideal, even just the thought made dream cringe.
"do you like george?"
"what?" he snapped out of his mind to stare at his sister, her hood was pulled up over her head, the strings pulled tight so only her nose peeked out.
"like do you like him?" she turned to him, despite not being able to see him.
"you're only allowed to ask two questions about george from now on." he rolled his eyes, pushing her head so she started to loose balance.
when she regained composures she made an attempt to push him back, missing and sending herself tumbling into the ground. he tried to bite back his laugh.
"you're so mean to me." she huffed crossing her arms as she stood beside him.
"you literally just asked me if i liked george." he stretched his arms from his pockets to exaggerate his emotion.
"and you never answered me." she pulled down her hood, turning to glare at him.
he turned away.
"i told you you can only ask two questions." he crossed his own arms.
"you never answered my second question."
"i'm not answering that."
"that's worse than actually answering me but okay."
"how is that worse?" he turned back to her in confusion.
"because then it's left up to my imagination." she smiled, removing a chocolate bar from her pocket. before he asked questions his eyes inspected the packaging.
hershey's chocolate.
it reminded him of a conversation, which reminded him of a person, which made him remember how long sapnap was taking to pick them up.
"i'm calling him right now."
"you should've done that ages ago." she bit the bar of chocolate instead of neatly breaking apart the pieces, he turned away from her disgusted by the sight.
just as the phone began to ring he saw the car pull up to the sidewalk.
"looking for someone?" sapnap rose his eyebrows, hand hanging outside the window of the car.
"now is not the time." dream rolled his eyes, making his way to the backseat, knowing for a fact his sister would take the front.
"what took you so long?" he watched as his sister handed sapnap the remaining quarter of her chocolate bar.
"i was going to pick up george but he freaked out when i told him you were coming." he stopped his sentence to glance at dream from the rearview mirror. "then he went back into his house to put on makeup or something and i came to pick you up because he was taking too long."
"so we're going to go get him now?" his sister asked, checking the time on her phone with a frown.
"don't worry we'll get there in time, sapnap is the most reckless driver i've ever met." dream joked hoping to help alleviate his sisters worry.
"it's great you say that dream, because i'm sending you in to go get george."
that couldn't have come around to bite him in the ass harder. sapnap and his sister shared a fist bump, laughing at how they imagined his agony would play through.
dream wasn't avoiding george, but he also didn't think he was ready to see him. he looked down at his phone turning away from the screen when the picture of george in his sweatshirt lit up.
now was not the time to be blushing at that picture.
"no time to think it over lover boy, we're here."
dream lifted his head from his phone to see george's apartment approaching in the distance.
he let out a sigh waiting to open the door, then made sure to flip off sapnap from outside the car. he walked up to the apartment, thinking about what he'd say when he got there.
he knocked, once. and the door flew open, he was pulled into the house so quickly he thought he was being kidnapped.
"i need you to help me decide which hoodie of dream's i'm going to wear today." george pulled the blonde by the wrist, into the hallway he'd never been in before.
"george?" he cleared his throat, obviously not being the person george expected to open the door to.
