LUKE:

after a dreadfully long time away from mia, i was finally home from tour and was happy with the way the year ended.
we won song of the year, did shows for awareness, and celebrated nine years as a band.
"thanks cal for the ride, see u soon yeah?" i say, climbing out of the car and peeking my head through the window.
"see u soon mate, did mia ever text u back?" he questions.
i texted her earlier because our final few shows were cancelled over an outbreak of a sickness broke out in the places we were supposed to go to, leaving us to be able to go home early and i was more than excited to see mia again.
"i think she's asleep- i'll text u about it later though. drive safe," i say before waving and receiving a wave back and heading inside our house.
it smelled just like her perfume and vanilla candles- both the two things she was obsessed with. i guess being away for 8 months really can clean out everything from the past.
all the lights were off except for the two candles lit at the front windows and the sitcom blaring off of the t.v screen.
i quietly take off my shoes and leather jacket and place it at the front door before making my way to the stairs and into our bedroom.
before opening the door, i brace myself. i was so happy to see her. i missed her smile, her laugh, her cuddles, everything.
i smile to myself before walking in the bedroom.
my heart was so full as i seen her asleep in one of my hoodies and boxers under 3 different blankets, facing my direction while her straight brown hair sifted around her closed eyelids.
i looked at her sleeping figure in awe as i walked over to the bed, leaning down in front of her.
i took my hand and brushed her hair out of her face revealing her rosy cheeks which had mascara streaks down them.
my heart immediately fell.
she had fallen asleep crying. she was upset and i didn't know.
i pout and take my lips and press them to her forehead while caressing her face.
she let out a long inhale and a small mumble before turning the other way from being awoken and half asleep.
i quickly take off my jeans and slip on another hoodie of mine before sneaking my way into bed beside her, dying to have her in my arms again.
i took my hand and placed it behind her head and tangled our legs together while placing another kiss on her head.
this time her eyes slowly began to flutter open and she flinched from the sudden figure next to her.
"l-lu?" she said in her high tone tired voice.
"hi pretty." i say, breaking out into a smile while looking into her forest green eyes.
she gasped and smiled before moving her head deep in the crook of my neck in shock, both hugging each other like we were going to be ripped away at any second.
"how? u- u have shows-," she says while giving up on her words from shock, making me let out a breathless laugh and just hug her tighter.
"i sent u a few texts, but i knew it was late so i let u sleep instead of calling." i say, lifting her head up to look at me.
i noticed a few fresh tears begin to brim her eyes again, making my features soften.
"don't cry anymore- i seen where ur face was flustered when i walked in and i didn't like it." i said with a frown.
"i just missed you." she said, sucking back the tears.
"i missed you too baby, so fucking much." i say before she crashed into my chest again.
she lays silently on my chest, taking a curl of mine and pulling it down to watch it bounce back up.
i rub her warm back slowly, taking in the scent of her flowery perfume and strawberry hair.
"cmon, u need sleep so let's put on a movie and get tired, yeah?" i say, lifting her body off of mine and rolling over to hug her.
"okay." she smiled. "together?"
i smile and lean in to press a long, meaningful kiss to her lips that i missed being so close to.
"together. i promise."
