Francoeurs Prov
We here almost on a high of happiness as we glided with the stars back to the Cabaret. We were travelling by rooftop again and Odette had her arms stretched out as I carried her on my back. She was laughing and now new she wasn't afraid anymore.
We stopped on a rooftop so I could catch my breath for the air was cold and it hurt my lungs a little but I couldn't help asking to her "Are you cold?"
"No I'm fine, I think I needed the cold air" she said. Her skin was white and her nose was a rosy as her cheeks. I reached out to see if her face was cold. She shivered from my touch or the chill of the air I wasn't sure but I apologies anyway.
"Please forgive me" I took my hand back. I always had this urge to touch her but when I did I felt I was doing something wrong.
"Hey, never apologize for being kind ever again" she said taking my hand. Her hand was cold but I grasped it wanting to warm her.
"Tonight was amazing! I'm so glad I brought you there, it seems you had fun." She smiled. "It's a dream being with you" I said, absolutely agreeing that tonight was perfect.
Her cheeks became redder. "And I think I'm getting used to the travel that you use" she laughed as she sat down on the edge of the roof.
I sat down next to her, wanting nothing more than her not to fall off.
"You know, since I was young I've had dreams of souring over this city. I always wanted to fly. I have wings but their useless. You made my dream come true Francoeur" she grinned looking my way.
"Let me be your wings!" I blurted out. I meant it but it also meant something else that I've been longing to ask her.
"Pardon?" She asked. "I'll take you anywhere you could every want to be. Let me lift you high upon the stars!! You'll sour with me and I'll never let you fall!!" I said taking her hands in mine and staring intensely in her gorgeous emerald eyes.
"I don't think I quiet know what you mean Francoeur" her grin was now hinted with confusion.
"Well, um...for some time now I've been thinking we should be more together! Like how Lucille and Raoul are, or Emile and Maud. There's this thing when I'm with you that I wish to have with me always..... You do so many things to me I can't even explain what exactly they are! I'm asking....." I sighed. I'm making a complete fool of myself. I don't even know what I'm asking of her. " when you said we should be lovers, did you mean it?" She asked seriously.
I paused. Lovers. Lucille and Raoul always say they love each other and I've seen and heard of love before. It's what you share with another person. I would do anything to share it with Odette.
"Yes" I said.
"So, you want use to be a couple them?" She asked
"Exactly" I answered fiddling with my hands.
"Well then we are" she smiled as she took my hands in hers. I took a breath in relief smiling. My heart was pumping a little faster.
"Do you know what would make it official?" She asked softly scooting closing to me.
"What" I asked gulping and feeling my face burning up. I don't know if it was the awkward closeness between us that made my heart beat even louder.
She slowly began to lean forward and whispered in my ear...
"A kiss"
She gently took my chin in one hand and planted her blossom soft, chillingly luscious lips on my cheek. In the time that they were on my skin I couldn't breath. And when she pulled back I took in air that nearly choked my.
"You alright" she said looking a little shaken as well. "Yes" I answered which in fact was not the case. I don't know! My head was spinning and my heart was racing but it felt wonderful at the same time.
I was dizzy enough probably to fall off the roof. Odette could tell for she got me up and took my away from the edge.
"It..just the cold....let's go somewhere warm" I said. Being happy and sick at the same time is a strange thing.
It was only a leap to the cabaret and we where safe and warm inside my bedroom.
"Would you like to come downstairs for a cup of tea?" I asked. Putting my jacket, hat and scarf away.
"That would be wonderful" she answered.
We made our way down the stairs and I put Odette's coat in the closet downstairs. I opened the living room door expecting it to be empty but it was quiet the opposite.
Lucille, Raoul, Emile and Maud where siting on the couches while and short man with a moustache and round spectacles was standing near the window.
It was commissioner Pâté.
