He & She
The rain is pouring so hard. Under that there is a girl weeping. Mourning over her dying lover. He was bleeding to death and she doesn't know what to do.
She knows that he doesn't have much time left so she kept apologizing. Blaming herself for what happened. The guy also knows that he only has a limited time so he told her to stop blaming herself. Told her to keep on living her life as if he was still there.
He spent his last moments comforting her and professing his unconditional love for her. Telling her that he would die protecting her, that if given another chance, he would still do it again in a heart beat. She can't help but to cry harder and just listen. Even though she sat there listening, nothing is sinking in her mind. She still blames herself.
After breathing his final moments. At last, he closes his eyes. Laying there so still as if he is just sleeping peacefully. But she knows better.
She vowed to herself that she would never let someone in again. That she would never love someone as she loved him. Terrified that she would replace him. And he would resent her for it.
Another reason is that she is afraid. She fears of feeling the same way that night. The feeling of vulnerability and weakness. Her helplessness couldn't save him.
So she decided to be closed off. To build walls around her. Isolation was her solution. Thinking that if she is away from anyone she wouldn't feel pain anymore.
