"I expect you to stay longer," Soyeon said, saying it in the lowest voice she could.
"What?"
"You sounded really cool... like you're the main character in a drama."
"What about you?"
"You were saying that to me so... that makes me the main character too, doesn't it?"
After their 'lunch date' at the shop, while waiting for school hours to end, they decided to walk around to waste time before heading back home. They talked and talked as they walked mindlessly with no thoughts of where to go. That resulted in them passing by numerous shops and having Soyeon stare at the beverages served through the window of cafés.
"Do you want a drink?" he asked.
Soyeon was suddenly debating with herself if she surely wanted it. Though, whether she fought against him about it, Eunwoo insisted on having something to enjoy as they waited for time to speed up a little. He bought a mango fruit smoothie for her which she was quite thrilled to have a taste of.
"Where's your metal straw?" Eunwoo asked, taking the plastic straws away from her and placing them back on the counter.
"I-If you don't mind, can we both..." she asked, though her voice began going softer as she trailed on.
"Sure," he answered immediately, holding her drink as well as his.
"Really?!"
It didn't take long until excitement suddenly came running in her and she was seen rummaging through her bag. She had a huge smile as she did. When she finally grabbed hold of what she was looking for, she took out two similar metal straws, one being bigger than the other.
"Choose your weapon," she asked playfully, raising the two different metal straws towards him. He smiled at her as he took the slightly larger metal straw.
"Cheers!" she exclaimed, gently hitting her drink against Eunwoo's before taking a large sip.
The two runaways continue to walk, and walk, and walk all over the place to waste the time they had left. It felt like an eternity until they finally heard the school bell ringing in a far distance, notifying everyone that it was already the end of the day. The two quickly caught up to the next bus back home.
"Sit next to me," Eunwoo said, leading them both to two empty seats by the window. Just before he sat down, Soyeon held her hands out to stop him.
"What?"
"Rock, paper, scissor!" Soyeon suddenly shouted.
Eunwoo was slightly confused but his hands naturally turned into a fist, imitating a rock. To her luck, Soyeon had her fingers spread out as paper.
"Yes!" she exclaimed before taking her place on the window seat. She then patted excitedly to the empty seat next to her.
"Have a seat next to the winner!" she said, rubbing her victory to him. Eunwoo didn't question what had just happened to him. He only smiled and sat down next to her.
They spent the rest of the drive home asking each other questions as they drank through her metal straws, Soyeon doing most of the talking and asking. She asked simple questions like his favourite colour, his favourite word, a subject he preferred, what his shoe size was. She did try to get him to talk more but he only ever said a few words to her. She felt like she was annoying him if she continued on her babbling.
But Eunwoo didn't mind it and asked her to continue her interview. But because of that, they missed their stop.
