Soon enough, I was in a longboat headed to the Lone Islands with Lucy, Caspian, Edmund, and surprisingly- and unfortunately, Eustace.

"Why are we bringing him?" I whispered to Edmund. He groaned.

"I honestly didn't notice him until now."

"Onward! The thrill of the unknown lies ahead!" Reepicheep interrupted as he arrived. Caspian offered me a hand once he got out of the boat. I took it.

"Couldn't this have waited till the morning?" I heard Eustace complain.

"Let me hit him!" I seethed.

"There is no honor in turning away from adventure lad," Reepicheep interjected.

"Listen," Lucy interrupted.

"Where is everyone?"

I started following Caspian, Edmund, and Lucy.

"Come on jelly legs,"

Reepicheep offered a hand to Eustace.

"I'm capable of doing it myself," Eustace snapped and proceeded to fall on his face.

"And you're certain he's related by blood?" Caspian questioned again. I sighed.

"Thankfully I was adopted so I'm not tainted with his blood."

Lucy sighed.

Ding

I quickly unsheathed my swords as a bell rang. I exchanged worried looks with Edmund.

"Reepicheep, stay here with Drinian's men and secure the place," Caspian ordered.

"We'll head on."

"If we don't come back by dawn, send a party," I added. Caspian nodded.

"Yes your majesties,"

We continued into the city with our weapons raised.

"Yeah, looks like nobody's in, so do you think we should head back?" Eustace asked. I glared at him.

"You know, I already know that people are there. And even if they were gone, we wouldn't have headed back. So do you want to come here and guard or do something actually useful?"

"Ah, yes,"

Eustace ran toward us.

"Good idea cousin. Very um... logical."

I scrunched my nose with displeasure. Caspian handed Eustace a knife.

"I've got it. I've got it. Don't worry."

I rolled my eyes and pushed open the door to the source of the bell sound, Edmund providing light with his torch. The room was hauntingly beautiful, with large bells hanging from the ceiling.

"Uh, I'm ready to go when you are!" Eustace called out. We ignored him. In the center of a room stood a pedestal with books sprawled across it. In front of us was an open book, with names crossed out with prices next to them. Slaves.

"Who are all these people?" Lucy asked quietly.

"Why have they been crossed out?" Edmund murmured.

"It looks like some kind of fee," Lucy said sadly.

"Slave traders," Caspian and I said at the same time. I jumped up in surprise at the discordant sound of bells and men yelling. I looked up and saw men sliding down the ropes, their weapons drawn.

"Look out!" Caspian shouted, shooting one. I kicked another to the ground, running over to Lucy to make sure she was okay.

"AAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!"
