Day of birth have you came,
The weak cries a music to her ears!
Now life, can you measured even longer?
Mind so open, can you expand even broader?
Thousand of days, o how even short
The days together, years have brought forth
The elders and the sages, their wisdom, O how deep.
Young, o listen before they fall in eternal sleep
Master, have you given counsel?
The heart is wanting, and the mind is rebelious.
What can he do?
Light, will you depart?
Darker it is for the closed doors of understanding.
O sorrow, have you been too deep and so shallow
Even the dark night without moon and stars reminds me thee
The people who came and go, and places have you seen along your journey.
With the heart in longing, who shall remember thee.
Life continues, it goes on.
Find thy way, and walk thy free!
Life have been completely so defined,
Death o rest, who can stop when you come.
Like the sun rising and setting,
like the birds that fly,
Life has also a place of resting
What hath the wanderers learn,
Down in his history, it is engraved in his heart.
