Y/n's POV
Brenda ran into the room in a hurry mumbling and cursing under her breath. This was something I've seen her pick up from Jorge. The longer I've known her, the worse the words become.

"What's he done now?"

Brenda looks at me confused almost as if she hasn't realised by now that I know her inside out. The girls not easy to read but I always know what she is thinking.

"He won't come away from that radio for one second and he keeps talking about a storm that's gonna happen, telling me to prepare. Prepare for it how exactly?" She practically screams at me.

Jorge has always kept to himself a lot but opens up more around me and Brenda. Almost like he is our father. But there is some things he keeps to himself, mostly things about the so called 'Right Arm'. He will sit at his desk for hours on end listening to the radio talking some nonsense about airways and frequency. I have no idea what he is going on about but it's been like this for years. Started a few years after he took me in.

After living here for a while, you get use to the people here and the way things are done. Jorge runs this place but puts his trust in me and Brenda to help him keep order and look after it, almost like we are his 'Second in command', it sounds silly to say but it's true.

Being taken in as children, we were taught how to attack and defend from a young age and basically grew up to be the best form of defence that our make-shift home had. Not that it needed much protecting from anything. WICKED didn't seem to care what we did. No one here is immune so they had no purpose in taking us. That is no one but me, however, WICKED doesn't know that. I don't even think they know I am alive or exist despite the fact that that is where I came from.

"Just sit down and take a minute. Your gonna scare Mollie if you keep yelling" I told frustrated girl.

"Sorry. I forgot about her." Not a surprise.

Mollie was a young child, no older than 5 at most, who we had recently rescued on a supply mission. I was sent out with a crew to gather more supplies for the camp and couldn't help but see her curled in the corner of a broken down shop, crying her eyes out. She must have thought we were cranks coming to get her but after making it known we were human, she ran straight for me and wouldn't leave my side. Jorge had a strict rule about missions, 'never bring back any strays, we don't need more people to worry about' but looking at that poor girl, I realised that I couldn't have cared less about his rule at this point. I told her to stay put whilst I gathered more supplies but she followed me around the whole time not saying a word so I let her be. After gathering supplies I took her back to the truck with me and gave anyone a hard glare if they even looked like they thought I was doing the wrong thing. Once we were sat in the truck I spoke to the girl and had learnt her name Mollie and that her parents had become cranks, leaving her alone in the world.

Arriving back at camp was fun as I had to explain to Jorge how I had bought in a stray who was no older than 5 and ultimately could not do much to help us. However, to my surprise, he took the situation well as said she could stay but she was my responsibility. I accepted this even though I wouldn't have let her go with anyone else anyway. After that, she never left my side and had become like a sister to me.

I looked down at the small girl in my lap before jumping at the sound of thunder.

"Well there's the storm" I laughed as Brenda just rolled her eyes at me as she left. I didn't know if it was the storm but I had a strange feeling that things were about to change and I couldn't tell if it was for better or worse.

"Y/N, Y/N !!!!" Brenda screamed frantically running into the room like she just witnessed a murder. At this point I wouldn't have been surprised. Mollie had woken up to the thunder and was now resting on my hip, tilting her head at Brenda to give her a look of confusion probably mirroring my own look.

"We have guests. From the scorch"

This statement sent a shiver down my spine. The scorch? No ones come out of the scorch alive in years. Diverting my attention away from the multiple questions that were running rapid in my head, I gave Brenda a small nod signalling that I would be right behind her as I put Mollie down. I walked after Brenda only to realise I had a shadow but I didn't mind much I knew she was safer with me anyway.

As we approached the outside of the basement door, I could hear the cranks screaming signalling that our 'guests' had found their way in and if they weren't careful, they would get torn to pieces. Taking Mollie round the corner of the door, I allowed Brenda to push it open only to see a group of boys. Wait, there was a girl with them too but only one. As the light from the door shone through into the room, Brenda slowly made her way towards the boys avoiding the cranks like it's the most natural thing in the world. However, as curious as I am, I wait at the door knowing if I go on Mollie will follow and that won't end well for anyone.

"Hey, I'm Brenda" I suddenly hear her say as she approaches the boys and girl only to be met with their confused faces.

"You all look like shit"

Omg This is the first proper story I am going to be writing and I really hope that I will be able to stay motivated.
Obviously the story is from the scorch trials movie and I have added a few characters like Mollie.
I really hope that anyone who reads this will enjoy it but I have so many ideas I want to try and add to the story. Please leave any suggestions in the comments or tell me if you do want me to continue this story it would mean a lot to me.

P.s. I'm really sorry if any of the SPAG isn't to good in it I thought it would be easier than it is but it's not so I appreciate people who write these even more now.

Thank you for reading.
