Freddie Mercury of the famous rock band Queen, composed the song ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ on May 2, 1981, on the guitar in just five to ten minutes.
Mercury said about the catchy tune that, "‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ took me five or ten minutes.I did that on the guitar, which I can’t play for nuts, and in one way it was quite a good thing because I was restricted, knowing only a few chords.”

The song was written as a tribute to Elvis Presley, and the entire song was recorded in less than half an hour. (even though John Deacon claims it took six hours).
The song reached number two in the UK Singles Chart, and it became the first US number-one hit for them.
