Fortunately for me, I never felt like an infraction, not most of the time.
It wasn't ideal, kissing in empty bathrooms, pulling my arm away from your shoulder as soon as the door opened even though we were well-hidden behind the entertainment center.
It was something, though, something tangible.
I didn't know hypocrisy, had never seen it eye-to-eye.
That's why it makes sense that I didn't recognize it until I was outside in the chalky air, trying not to slip on the ice so I could reach up through your bedroom window and give you a plastic spork to fight off the demons.
It wasn't a weapon
It was made to look like I thought it was.
So you knew I was trying.
