5. Cute talk

The voice that muttered my terrible name was so welcome to me. Hearing her voice, it was something supernatural. Especially, in a place where they tried to ignore me in every possible way, and in all possible ways, to show their superiority. Of course, there were good people who communicated with me in one way or another. But they either moved from this cold and crazy island, or broke off communication with me.

What I definitely didn't expect was Astrid's voice. Anything, even bullying from Snotlout, but Astrid ... Astrid! A beautiful and graceful Valkyrie with beautiful azure blue eyes, a sweet smile, incredible intelligence and blond hair.

Right now, she is looking at me from the left side. It is very uncomfortable near her, because this is Astrid! The woman who is ten times better than me, who deserves the best men in this world and who shouldn't have paid attention to me.

It was stupid and by definition unrealistic to expect this.

Looking up from my glass, I turned convulsively to face Astrid. "Yes ... It's me, Hiccup," I said nervously. To squeeze out these words was torture, I just had to wait for Astrid's answer, but to understand that she would drive me away, or somehow criticize me, was the most possible scenario.

"Hiccup! Is this really you! So, how are you? " Astrid acted unexpectedly and cheerfully, which confused me. For my brain, it was not in everyday life. Someone who ignored me at school, and in real life usually did not meet with me, asks how I am doing. They asked "how are you?" mostly just close friends, or my huge father.

Having depicted my trademark crooked smile, I rubbed my forehead and continued the dialogue. "Everything is fine, Astrid ... Everything is fine ..." - I stammered slightly to such a strange gesture on her part. Astrid smiled and was definitely pleased with my response. Azure eyes lit up and Astrid opened but immediately closed her mouth. She probably wanted to say something, but suddenly changed her mind.

After scratching my head, I continued this eerily ridiculous dialogue.

"Astrid, how quickly time has passed," I remarked. Astrid raised her right eyebrow and moved her hand over to the martini glass for one sip. Then she put the glass back in its place. "More precisely, it's been 10 years now, today is the anniversary of our high school graduation," she corrected. I took a sip of my drink without taking my eyes off her eyes.

"What cannot be denied is that you have grown incredibly and gotten prettier," Astrid suddenly exclaimed. At her words, I blushed. Now I look like a long, elongated tomato. I was very ashamed of myself. "Yes ... Thank you, Astrid," he said, embarrassed, and took another sip of his whiskey. The main thing is that he at least somehow helps, and relieves the tension that hung over me a little.

Astrid noticed my embarrassment and became even more cheerful and energetic. "Hiccup, don't try to hide, I saw that you blushed like a tomato, which therefore means that you are embarrassed!" Astrid accused me. It became even more unpleasant for me. I blushed even more, and just didn't want to be here. I wanted to escape somewhere so that my red cheeks were not visible at all.

"Uh ... Um ... I'm ... N-not s-embarrassed," I stuttered.

"That's what had to be proved, you're embarrassed!" - she exclaimed.

"No!"

"Yes!"

"N-no!"

"I said yes, period, you can see it! You blushed, stuttered and started acting strange! You are definitely confused! " she said cheerfully.

After drinking another drink, I began to try to calm myself so as not to seem ridiculous and sentimental in the eyes of Astrid. Thank Thor that the whiskey helps to calm down, and repaints the color of my cheeks from red, to my usual color - pale beige. Now it was not particularly difficult to continue the conversation, but again, it took place in a slightly tense manner.
