I stepped outside, the slight night breeze swaying the loosely fit button-up shirt.

The small building my team decided to sleep in had a small balcony, much like the one I had back home.

When I couldn't fall asleep like my fellow soldiers, I turned to the sliding doors of the outside, the sheer curtains almost beckoning me.

The night sky was the clearest it has been in a while, small stars flaking the black sheet above.

The waning moon was not seen, blocked by the canopy of trees not far off.

Staring up towards the sky made me realize how small I am. How insignificant compared to the vastness above.

My hand fell into my pocket, fingers brushing over the folded bit of paper, my eyes still trained upwards.

I pull the photo out, bringing it up to my lips making a silent promise.

Returning the paper to where it was before, I continue to gaze up, making up different shapes in the stars.

"Can't sleep?" A husky voice sounds behind me, not moving me in any way.

I tear my gaze towards pares of eyes, the slight glow of the stars made his eyes seem like the purest of crimson.

I hum, looking away.

He comes to stand adjacent to me, leaning against the railings basking in the clear sight.

We stood in a comfortable quietness, enjoying each other's company and the view.

Though, I couldn't ignore the gnawing growing in the pit of my stomach.

"Can you feel it?" I ask making the world around us still.

Bakugou's eyes flicked towards mine, examining me.

"Yes,"

Something is wrong. The silenced night seemed to agree, too quiet.

"The scouts never specified how close the armies were,"

My mouth dried.

I scan over the thicket that stretches for miles, concealing anything inside.
