A Little Love at Christmas
Ship: ReNoMin
Prompt: None
Word count: 1264Christmas was always Renjuns favourite time of year. Other than valentines, it was the perfect opportunity to show both his boyfriends just how much he loved them. The thing that made it better was the feeling that dragged on for a whole month before it. The decorations, the food, the activities. All of it was just so amazing.
As Renjun put the last of the decorations on the tree, he felt a pair of sturdy arms wrapping around his waist and a nose rubbing against his neck.
"This looks beautiful" Jeno sighed, pulling the older boys body closer to himself. Renjun sighed, allowing himself to rest back into his chest, still trying to fix the bauble on the branch.
"Thanks, I've been working on it all day" Renjun chirped, finally letting go of the final ornament and pushing Jeno off of him so he could admire the tree.
"I was talking about you, but that too i guess" Jeno shrugged, standing back to admire the work his boyfriend had done since he and Jaemin had left the house earlier that morning. Or should i say were kicked out of the house by their persistent boyfriend.
"Mmmmm, well... Did i say you could come back in?!" Renjun suddenly squeaked, pushing his boyfriend out of the room before he could look around too much.
"I told you he'd kick off" Jaemin sighed as he hauled bags through the front door of the house.
"Oh shut up," Jeno laughed with a sigh. "Baby-" He drew, leaning back into Renjun in protest, "It looks great, can't you take a break and come have some lunch with us" He pouted, taking Renjuns hands into his own.
"Jen, you know full well that's not going to work on him. How long are you going to be Injunnie?" Jaemin asked as he made his way past the two and down the hall towards the kitchen.
"Five ten minutes" Renjun shrugged.
"Jen, just come to the kitchen and help me make lunch, Injunnie can come join when he's ready for us to see, Alright?" Jaemin nodded, disappearing into the kitchen. With one last push, Renjun was able to get the younger boy of the room, slamming the door in his face.
With a smile Renjun finished off the final touches, straitening a few ornaments and pictures before dusting off his hands with a smile as he admired his final piece. Let's just say, he was a bit of a perfectionist when it came to putting up the decorations.
Finally, he made his way into the kitchen where Jaemin was finishing up lunch while Jeno played on his phone at the table.
"Finally!" Jeno sighed, watching as the older boy walked in with a smile, hugging his jumper closer to himself as he felt a sudden kick of cold air. "You okay?" Jeno asked, pulling the smaller boy closer to his side.
Renjun smiled up at his boyfriend and nodded. "Yeah, just cold, that's all" He stated before shivering slightly. He allowed Jeno to hold him closer, his body heat radiating onto him as they sat watching Jaemin dish up their food.
"Here you go," Jaemin smiled, handing over the steaming plate of food. The three of them sat in a comfortable silence as they ate their food, complimenting the chef as taught- by the chef.
After finishing their food, Renjun allowed the two boys to follow him into the lounge. With a smile, he pushed open the door, Letting the two boys finally see his finished work.
"Oh, wow, Injunnie. It looks incredible" Jaemin smiled, looking around at all the lights he had put up and the way he had clearly thought out every placement of decoration on the tree.
"Indeed" Jeno smiled, once again snuggling into the neck of the older boy. Renjun smiled proudly as his boyfriends complimented his hard work. "Maybe we can relax now?" Jeno pouted nodding in the direction of the couch. Renjun nodded, grabbing Jaemins hand as well, tugging him along.
It was a very snuggly December. As the nights drew colder, the boys drew closer. Huddling together like a group of penguins, snuggled together under blankets on the couch. Each held a hot chocolate in hand, made more to the purpose of keeping hands warm than to enjoy the drink itself, that was just a plus factor.
With Renjun snuggled between the two boys, he felt nice and warm, protected by the other two who hugged him closer to themselves. He always felt wanted and needed with these two around. He always felt loved. With Christmas being the next day, Renjun was beginning to get nervous.
The three made their way up to the bedroom for the night. It was safe to say that Renjun didn't exactly sleep much. The concoction of nerves and excitement was energising making sleep merely a thought.
Seven o'clock the following morning, Renjun woke to a cold and empty bed, the blanket wrapped around him like a burrito, clearly Jeno's work. He waddled his way down the stairs, pulling the blanket up over his head to allow his feet to poke out the end.
Pushing open the lounge door, he let out a gasp as he saw his boyfriends sat on the floor with towers of presents with his name printed all over the wrapping.
"Merry Christmas, Injunnie" Jaemin smiled brightly. With Jeno beaming like an idiot beside him.
"Did- did you guys do all this?" Renjun asked as he looked at the stacks almost as tall as himself.
"Yep, all for you baby" Jeno smiled, gesturing the smaller boy into the room to sit on the couch where they could pass gifts to him.
Renjun slowly stepped into the room as his eyes began to sting. Jaemin was the first to notice the ay the tears had started to form.
"Hey, why are you crying?" he asked, pulling Renjun onto the couch. Jenos eye smile suddenly turned upside down as concern set in for their boyfriend.
"It's just, I put so much effort in this year to prove how much I love you, both of you. But now it looks pathetic next to this. I bet you couldn't even find your presents under the tree" Renjun sobbed, a little sniffle following his words.
"Probably not" Jeno shrugged, receiving a glare from Jaemin, "But that's because we pulled them out already and put them on the top" Jeno finished, tilting Renjuns chin up with his finger.
"Besides, you don't need to give us presents to prove how much you love us. We see that every day. You try so hard every day. You don't need a special day to prove it to us. We already know. Today is about you. Today is your Christmas. Its all about what you want" Jaemin smiled.
"But that's what my birthday is for" Renjun sniffled, wiping the tears that stung in the corners of his eyes still.
"Yeah, well. You deserve two days and don't say Valentine's day because that doesn't count. Its a celebration for new couples. And we have had the pleasure of spending it with you for four years now" Jeno smiled, anding Renjun the first present.
"What do you say we get started. And maybe then we will be finished by lunch" Jaemin smiled, watching Renjun calm down and blush with a smile as he tore the wrapping paper open. Before he could even see the present Jeno said something that caught both other boys in surprise.
"Maybe later you could show us how much you really love us upstairs..."
