"Ah, whatever, a deal's a deal, I guess. I don't like breaking the rules." The man shrugged. "Anyway, I gave you your wish, you can go. Bye!" The man waved. Baekhyun looked to her, then they both looked back to him.

"What?"

"I said, Goodbye. Shoo. Thanks for playing. Get out of my building." He waved a hand.

"That's not how this works, you bastard-"

"Look," the man shrugged. "I'm sorry if you have a problem with it. In all honestly, I found it rather ironically redundant as well. That's part of the reason I picked it. Still, as I said just a second ago, a deal is a deal."

"We didn't even get to make the wish." Baekhyun said in anger, causing her to cringe. "You can't just assume you know what we want?" At this, the man's face seemed to light up.

"Oh, I see." Smiling ear to ear, he faced her with a strangely terrifying stare. "Little missy hasn't told you what's going on, has she?" She didn't say anything. "I supposed that makes sense, you never would have helped her otherwise..." Baekhyun's eyes slowly shifted from the robed man to her face, although she didn't make eye contact with him. She didn't want to see his face.

"Y/N?" She could feel the stare over her body, stabbing her in a thousand tiny pinpricks. "What's he talking about? Do you know something?"

"Let me tell you something, Baekhyun." The man said, leaning backwards nonchalantly. "There's a lot of mystery to this little game. I made it that way on purpose. I have abilities you could never hope to understand, mans and sources beyond your reach. That's how I do everything I do. Take your powers at my will, reward the wishes, etcetera. Of course, this means I can basically have whatever I want, whenever I want, which isn't any fun, now is it? That's why I'm playing this game. It will be entertaining for quite some time, as there are others desperate enough to play."

"I don't see your point." He snarled, attention now completely diverted from her.

"See, now that you know there's a person behind all this, I'm sure you've realized that there are no mistakes, it's not an automated system. At least, not to the extent to which you were thinking." Pausing, he rolled his hips in a dramatic turn.

"Y/N, dearest, on which trials were you selected to have your powers removed?" She forced herself to think back. The first set was... the time trials, at least as far as Tao had told her. There were a few scattered about after that, but... "Ones where your life was in danger." The man finished for her, seeing the gears turning in her mind. "You see, while Lay and Tao did pose somewhat of a problem to my fun, you... you were the worst. Of course, I later decided that it would be all the more torturous if you lived, but still..."

"This doesn't make sense. Why would you restrict her? She has no powers." Walking over to him and tapping the side of his head a little more than lightly, the man laughed.

"You're not getting it, Baekhyun. She does have a power. She's just never known, because she's never had to use it. Although, in my experience, it's not exactly a nice one." Looking down at her hands, she realized what he was insinuating. It couldn't be true, it didn't make sense, and yet... Everything lined up.

"Am I...?"

"Yes, ma'am! You're immortal. Tragic, really, seeing all the trouble you went through to get this wish."
