Valt's P.O.V.
My mouth hung open. "You."
Ashtem smiled mysteriously. "Yes, me."
"Why did you attack Shu?" I demanded.
"He betrayed the Snake Pit," Ashtem answered simply. "There were two ways this could have been played. He dies, or he suffers. Unfortunately for him, he seemed to have chosen the second option."
"You can surrender, or we can do this the hard way," Daigo growled. He lifted some rope and tied it around every Snake Pit member in sight. Then he borrowed some duct tape from Shu and taped it over their mouths.
"There. Now... we should go."
One month later...
Everything is better now.
Ashtem and his minions are now all in prison. Shu's recovered from his time in the Snake Pit. Mom was mad at me for the first few days but decided I did well. Extra Beybread!
I've returned Spryzen and the launcher back to Shu. He seemed to appreciate it.
All in all, not a bad way to end an adventure.
