"Okay, I'll go outside and get some wood brought in from under the canvas?" Max said to his wife."I'll start a fire, as soon as I get the logs in," He said to her with a kind voice.
"Okay, be careful out there," She said to her husband, while walking down the hallway. While Dixie was focused on making their sandwiches, outside Max was struggling to get the wood inside.
The wind was blowing harder than before, as he kept on pushing forward and finally made it inside. Max at the wood down on some newspaper, so he could get it set up.
After it was ready, Mac struck a match in with the paper, before going to sit down. While he was watching the news, his wife walked into the living room with food in hand and set it on the table.
After Dixie did that, she made her way to the couch and sat down next to her husband. The lights went out again, is there was a knock at the door.
"Who could that be, this late at night," Max said to his wife was a dumbfounded look on his face.
"I don't know," Dixie said to her husband, as she was as dumbfounded as he was.
Max up from where he was sitting, making his way to the front door and opened it. When he saw officer Jack,"Good evening," He said to Max with a straight face.
"Come in and get warmed up," He said to him, before backing away from the doorway, as Jack stepped in.
"Sorry for intruding on both of you, but I got some results on the skull you found," Jack said to them.
"Okay, let's go into the living room and sit down, because the lights went out again," Max said to him, as they walked over there.
When they got there,"Let me get some coffee for you," Dixie said out loud to them, before making her way to the kitchen.
"I came out to let you know, the dental match was from a eight your old little girl," Jack said to him, when Dixie overheard their conversation.
She sent the copy down, as she was sad for the little girl and wondered, who could be so mean. "We are still waiting on a name," Jack said to them, as he started drinking his coffee.
Dixie didn't say a word, since she was trying to wrap her mind around all the information. "Was it natural causes?" Max asked him, as he put his arm around his wife, to comfort her.
"I don't know that, at this time," They asked him was a curious look.
"Soon, just waiting on the call?" Jack said to Max in Dixie, as he was wondering what they were thinking.
"I'll be coming back tomorrow, to look around the well," He said to them, as he drank his last copy and headed to the door. They said goodnight, as Jack headed to his car and stepped inside.
"I'm not hungry now," Dixie said to her husband, as she had tears forming in her eyes.
"I'm not either," He said to his wife with a sigh, as they decided to go put the food up for the night. While they slowly made their way down the hallway, since the lights still was out and hoped nothing would go bad.
Max and Dixie put the stuff away and decided to turn in for the night. The next morning, they woke up and went to the bathroom to shower, as Dixie tried the light and hoped it was back on.
When she did that, the light came on and they were happy, that they could brew copy instead of the instant. While Max and Dixie was stepping into the shower, outside the rain had stopped.
While minutes went by, Max and Dixie had just started drying off and notice the rain had stopped, as they were happy about that as well.
After that was done, Max put on his gray jeans and a black short sleeve western shirt in Dixie put on her blue jean short dress. When Max was done, he kissed his wife "I'm going to go and start the coffee maker," He said to Dixie.
Max headed downstairs, making his way down the hall and into the kitchen. He started it, as Max decided to make toast with strawberry jelly.
While he was doing that, upstairs his wife was almost done working on her hair. Dixie was having some problems with it, not doing what she wanted and decided to leave it alone for now, as she started on her makeup.
While she was doing that, down in the kitchen Max had finished the toast and coffee, grabbing a tray to put it on. After putting everything on the tray, he made his way into the living room and set the stuff down.
Max set down on the couch, when Dixie was making her way downstairs and there was a knock on the door. Who is it now She thought to herself with a upset look on her face, as Max got up to answer it.
"It's probably the sheriff," He said to his wife, since she was not happy that they couldn't have time to themselves.
"Okay," Dixie said to her husband with a sigh, as she got to the bottom of the stairs.
Matt's open the front door, two fine Jack standing there. "Come in and have a seat," He said to him with a smile.
"Thanks," Jack said to Max and Dixie with a kind voice. They all went into the living room, shut down and started drinking coffee with toast.
"We now have a name for the little girl, her name is Stephanie for sure and we don't have a last name yet," Jack said to them. He let them know, he needed to go and look in the well, as well as around it.
"Okay, could it have been an accident or maybe she fell in while playing around it?" Dixie asked him with a curious look on her face.
"Anything is possible, we won't know until we investigate it all," Jack said to them, as he grab some more coffee. While Max went outside with Jack, Dixie decided to take the stuff into the kitchen.
When she got closer to the back of the house,"Did I hear something," Dixie said out loud with a wandering eye. She wondered, if it was her imagination or was it her husband and the sheriff.
Dixie stepped into the kitchen and started washing the dishes, when she hears it again. It sounds like a ball bouncing She thought to herself, as you went to look and she didn't see anyone.
Dixie went back into the kitchen to finish up with a confused look on her face. While she was doing that, outside Max and Jack was looking around the well.
When they found a piece of clothing, underneath the mud and was guessing, that the rain had washed some of the mud off of it. Jack went to call the coroner, since he hasn't shown up yet and see where he was.
After doing that, he went back and started searching again, to look for anything else. Meanwhile inside the house, Dixie had finished the dishes and decided to make a sandwich for Jack, since there's was in the fridge.
While she was doing that, did she heard the noise again, but this time there was a little girl's voice. "Please play with me... please," She said out loud.
When she saw the little girl, as tears started to roll down her face in Dixie wished, she could do something to help her. "Will you please play with me," The little girl said again, as she hung her head down.
Dixie was stunned to hear that, Is it the little girl Stephanie She thought thought to herself, since she knew it was impossible to play with her. Did she couldn't get what she heard out of her head, as she continued to finish up the sandwich.
WhenDixie was done, she took the paper plates with chips and went to the living room, setting them on the coffee table. She walked over to the window, opened it up halfway.
"Lunch is ready for both of you!" Dixie yelled out to them with a high-pitch voice. after that was done, she shut the window and went to unpack the boxes of clothes, in their bedroom.
