Terror Town

CHAPTER 16

I better good to sleep, I have a lot to do tomorrow Max thought to himself, as he drifted off to sleep. The next morning, Max was woken up by Dixie throwing up again and he noticed, it was six in the morning.

"Can you go get me a few crackers and a Sprite?" She asked her husband with a sigh. Max stumbled out of bed, sleeping on his slippers and made his way to the kitchen, stepping inside.

He open the refrigerator, grab the soda out and made his way to the pantry. Max grabbed a package of saltine crackers, closing the door behind you and headed into the hallway, making his way back upstairs.

I wonder, is it a boy or a girl He thought to himself was a curious look on his face, since it would be easier to get the room set up and ready for the baby.

When Max dipped into the room, he handed his wife the stuff she needed, before he went to get a shower and wake up. After a little bit, did she started feeling better and made her way into the bathroom, as she got undressed.

When she was done doing that, she stepped inside and joined her husband in the shower. While they were doing that, the two of them was talking about what needed to be done today.

Max and Dixie stepped out, grabbing a towel and dried off, before walking into the bedroom to get dressed. What to where, since it will be a sunny day They thought to themself with a sigh.

When Max and Dixie figured it out, he put on a pair of blue shorts and a white tank top while she put on a pair of red short pants with a white bikini top.

After they were dressed, Max and Dixie made their way to the back door and stepped outside, as they started on the yard. While he started on cutting and trimming the trees, his wife started mowing the yard.

An hour went by, when Dixie needed to get something to drink and to rest, as she headed inside. She walked into the kitchen, went to the refrigerator and grabbed two bottles of water, closing it behind her.

While Dixie I was walking down the hall, outside Max was stacking the wood. She handed him one of them, before sitting down under the tree and watched her husband work.

After Max had finished what he was doing, he walked over and sat next to his wife. They started talkin about the way the yard looked and a few spots, that should have been grass there.

When the two of them we're done resting, Max went back to work on the trees and Dixie went back to mowing. While she was finishing the yard, Dixie saw Jack coming up the driveway and hollered for her husband.

"How are you feeling today?" Jack asked her with a smile on his face.

"Good, now I know why I've been sick," She said back to him with a smirk on her face.

"Oh really," Jack said to her with curiosity.

"Yes, I'm pregnant," Dixie told him with a chuckle. When Max came around the corner of the house, noticing Jack.

"All right, what's up?" He said to him was a curious look on his face. I wonder call Mom what the results were Max thought to himself, waiting on him to say something.

"It was a team that was sixteen years old, her name was Anna and her leg bones or not there," Jack said to him was a dumbfounded look on his face. He let Max know, to keep a eye out for any other stuff and it's really fishy, that they weren't there.

Let's let him know, he would do that, "Let me get you something to drink," He said to Jack with a smile.

"Sure, I'm off work today," He said to Max and Dixie, as he offered to give them a hand.

"Why don't you stay for dinner, we are barbecuing tonight and swimming?" Max asked Jack with a kind voice.

"Yes, it sounds good to me," He said to both of them with a sigh. Dixie walked over to the mower, started it up and Jack screwed over, as he took over cutting the grass.

I could have done that She thought to herself, while walking to the backyard inside on the side of the pool. While she was doing that, Max and Jack was finishing up the yard work and Dixie was starting to get bored.

She decided to go and get the grill set up, as she stood up making her way towards the grill. When Dixie looked across the yard, she saw a rope dangling in the tree and decided to check it out.

A few minutes later, she arrived at the tree and looked up, when she saw a hangman's loop. While Dixie was terrified at what she saw, Max came out of the house and handed a cold beer to Jack.

They started talking to each other, when Max and Jack heard a horrific scream coming from Dixie, as they both ran to where she was at. "What's wrong?" They asked her with a high-pitch voice.

"Uh...hu...up," Dixie said to them with a stutter, as she pointed up into the tree. When Max and Jack look up, there was a skeleton hanging from a hangman's loop.

There was a lot of blood on the pants, what was left of it and a little hair, still on the skull. "Go inside and lay down," Max told his wife with a Stern voice.

I hope she doesn't lose our baby over this He thought to himself with a worried look. Dixie went inside the house, making her way into the living room and decided to lay on the couch, instead of going to the room.

While she was doing that, Max and Jack did what needed to be done and that was to call the coroner. After doing that, they could see that the ribs on the left side was broken and the right foot was crushed.

Bobby rides at the house, making his way to the back yard and shakes his head. "Some more, this is getting bad and it's like they were killed," The coroner said to them with a unhappy look.

"It's not a accident now, it's worse than that," He continued to say to them. Max and Jack looked at each other with a sad look on their faces and agreed was Bobby.

"Let's look around, to see if we can find anything else," Jack said to Max, as they were needing to get this under control. While they were doing that, inside the house Dixie started feeling better and decided, to go back outside where everyone was.

Meanwhile outback, Bobby had just gotten done putting the bones in a body bag and notice Dixie walking up. After the coroner took off up front, he put it in the van and took off to his office.

While Dixie was walking around, she called them over, where she was standing. When they got there, she pointed at the ground and Max and Jack saw some more bones.

It looks like leg bones Jack thought to himself, thinking it could be from the girl on the side of the road. Jack sent Max to his car, to grab a couple body bags and started digging it up.

After he did that, Jack was waiting on Max and saw him walking up with the bags in hand. He grabbed one from him, as he started putting it into the bag and when Jack was done, he loaded it up in this car.

"I have to take this to the coroner and go do paperwork," Jack said to them, before leaving.

"Okay, I still need to get my wife to the doctor and pick her scripts up," Max told him. He went to walk the house up, as Dixie went to the truck and stepped inside, while he made his way to the truck.

They pulled out of the driveway and onto the road, headed to the doctor's appointment. After hour drive, Max and Dixie arrived at the doctor's office and notice the outside was White brick.

There was shrubs on both sides of the sidewalk was a small window on each side of the door. Max and Dixie saw a sign on the left side of the grass, that's said Dr. Roberts in white letters and they walked inside, to check in.

After checking in, they noticed the walls were white with tan trim and the floor was a white cement. There is a check-in station, on the far left wall and a small hallway with two doors on each side of it.

There is a musical clock, that hung above the nurse's station and metal chairs on both sides of the doorway. On the right wall is a men's and women's bathroom with a water fountain, in between them.

Max and Dixie sat there, waiting on the nurse to take them to a room.
