"Hey. Time to wake up." I shifted and sighed. I sat up and yawned, I looked and saw Tessa. "Breakfast is ready, and I put the directions to the school on your laptop already." I watched as she left. I sighed and picked out an outfit, I went to the computer and put the directions on my phone before grabbing a skateboard. I put on my shoes before heading downstairs. I saw there was a plate of eggs, and bacon, so I sat at the table and began to eat. Once I was done I headed out the door, shit. I opened it and grabbed my bag, I began to skate my way to school. I sighed and got off it when I got there. I put it on a little strap on my bag, I swallowed the lump in my throat, ignoring the stares and whispers as I made it to the office.
"I was told to speak to the principal."
"Name."
"Lydia." She looked up and smiled.
"She's been waiting on you." I nodded and walked in, I looked and saw a blonde hair girl, and a Strawberry blonde woman, they both looked at me.
"Lydia?" I nodded my head. "Have a seat." I sat in the chair next to the girl awkwardly. "This is Dawn Silver." I looked at the girl and smiled. "She's going to be giving you a tour, I put you in all her classes, and I doubt you will know anyone here, but I have to ask."
"I know, Alex Nichols, Tuck Simms, and Munch, I mean Reginald Barrett. My foster parents are friends with their parents." The woman nodded her head.
"Well, lucky for you, they are in some of Dawn's classes." I nodded my head. "Here's your locker number and schedule." I grabbed it from her and looked over it. "Any questions or..?"
"No, ma'am, I'm good." She nodded her head.
"Then, have a good day." I picked up my bag and walked out, I saw Dawn do the same. I walked out the office only to bump into someone. I felt someone hold my shoulders to keep me from falling.
"Sorry, Lydia." I looked up and saw... Alex.
"You're good." He looked behind him then at me, he awkwardly let go of my shoulders and looked at Dawn. "Are you okay?" He looked at me and nodded his head.
"I'm fine. Great. Never better."
"Alex!" I looked at a very big girl as she screamed for him.
"I have to go. Bye." Before I could ask, he took off into the office.
"Okay...?"
"You, newbie, you seen Alex?" I looked at the girl, and shook my head.
"Alex- who?" She glared at me.
"Don't play dumb I saw you talking to him just now." I smiled shyly.
"Oh, so that's his name, sorry he said something about hiding behind the school." She took off after I said that.
"Thank you so much, Lyds." Lyds?
"No problem, Al." He smiled and looked over, I followed his look and saw Munch and Tuck.
"Sorry man, I didn't think she'd actually go after you." I looked at the boys weird, I looked up when the bell rung.
"Bye boys." I followed Dawn and sighed. "Who was that?" She looked at me and smiled, sadly.
"That was Sandra, she beats the crap out of Alex and Munch, Tuck hit a grow spurt so she leaves him alone." I nodded my head, just let me catch her hit him. "So, you and Alex, huh?" I laughed at her.
"I literally just met him last night. He's cute sure, but I don't know." She smiled at me.
"No one's stood up to her like that, especially not for a boy." I sighed and shook my head.
"You act like I bit her head off."
"You kinda did." We laughed as we made it to first hour, so far, I think we'll be great friends.
--
"So, how do you like it so far?" I looked at her as we sat down at lunch.
"Well, it's different from all of my other schools. It's good to at least have one friend." She laughed making me look at her weird.
"Don't forget about Alex and them." I laughed nodding my head.
"Right. I don't see them.." She looked around with me, hell, not many people are here.
"Hey, did you hear?" I look at the table next to us. "That Sandra girl is at it again." I don't know what made me so angry, on minute I was looking for the boys, the next I'm out of the lunch room making my way to the middle of it, once I reached her I got in the way of her punch, making her punch me instead.
"Lyds?" I ignored Alex, I heard people say ouch, ou, and many other things.
"You." She went to hit me but I caught her hand. I looked her in the eyes, giving her a glare, she looked scared.
"How about you pick on someone your own size?" I spun and kicked under her feet making her fall. I looked at everyone else. "Go." They all began to scour away. I looked at Alex and smiled. "You okay?"
"Yeah.. thanks." I smiled at him.
"I am so sorry man, I thought that it would've helped." I looked at him confused but shrugged it off. "Thanks Lia." I nodded my head.
"Anytime. Are you sure, you're okay?" Alex looked down.
"How'd you do that?" I gulped and licked my lips.
"I've had my fair share of bullies." Alex nodded his head and looked away. "Don't go beating yourself over it. You are a small guy compared to her. I mean, it took my years to learn that trick." He smiled and looked at me. "I can show you, if you want."
"Yeah, thanks Lyds." I smiled, this is going to be the start of a new friendship.
"Hey, Lee, that was awesome." I looked at Dawn and laughed.
"It was nothing."
"Nothing? It was amazing. I'm so lucky to be your friend." I laughed at her and shook my head.
"We all are." I looked at them and smiled, hell yeah.
"I'm the lucky one, guys."
