'You're More Important to Me.'

TWs: not taking care of yourself, eating troubles mention

Word Count: 740

Idea: Y/N overworks herself to keep her job as a runner, but Minho won't have it.

Being a runner was a difficult job. Y/N had been assigned as a runner for a few weeks now, and while she has been doing amazing, it put lots of strain on her body. She still wasn't quite used to running, as she usually fell behind when with the other runners. She needed to take breaks more often, and she still had a hard time understanding the maze. She had to spend extra time in the mapping room just to make sure she didn't make any stupid mistakes. She felt like the weakest link, and she hated it. She didn't want to lose her job either, so she was overworking herself so that Minho didn't fire her.
Today, it was excruciatingly hot. It didn't help that Y/N tired from last night. She pulled an all-nighter just trying to map what she was supposed to. Even Minho noticed how she was skipping meals just to get her work down. He honestly felt bad, but he knew Y/N was stubborn. She probably wouldn't listen to him if he tried.
"Okay, today Y/N and I will explode section 4, you two take the other side-" Minho was talking to the runners, waiting for the door to open. Y/N could barely pay attention due to her own body screaming at her. Her stomach was screaming at her to eat, while she could barely keep her eyes open. Not only that, she was sweating out water that she didn't even have in her body. She could feel the sun burning into her neck. Soon, the doors opened and they began running.
At first, everything was going well. Y/N forced herself to keep running to keep up with Minho, despite her entire body pleading her not to. She managed to ignore her need for a little while, but it didn't last very long as she felt her body get weaker. It was almost as if she had lost control of it...or she had died and is not a ghost separated from her own body. Her vision began to blur, turning black. She began to fall, having no ability to try and stop or catch herself. Her legs crumbled from under her, and she fell flat onto her back.
It all felt like a dream. She heard Minho call out to her, but it all didn't feel real. Did something happen? Why did he sound so panicked? Maybe she was just asleep...but it felt so nice and comfortable here...she didn't wanna wake up.

"Y/N! Get up!" Minho shook the girl's lifeless body. "I knew this would happen." Minho sighs, pulling her up so that she's sitting against the wall. He gets his backpack, grabbing some water, putting it to her lips. "You remember how to drink water. You need it."
Y/N felt confused for a second, opening her eyes some and swallowing the fresh cold water that was entering her mouth. She blinked to clear her vision, seeing Minho in front of her, his face wrinkled in worry. "Minho...?"
"You passed out. Why haven't you been taking care of yourself?" He huffs out, a mix of frustration and concern. "First, you stop eating dinner and breakfast. Then, I find you asleep on a pile of map drawings. Then this!" He says, pulling out a snack and handing it to her. "What is up with you?"
Y/N frowns, looking down in embarrassment. "I'm sorry...I just...I just thought I wasn't working hard enough."
"Hard enough? You were doing just fine before this." Minho says, putting a hand on her shoulder. "If you continue to overwork yourself like this, you're gonna die. I don't want to lose you. I don't care if you run a little slow...or if you mess up maps. You're more important to me than those stupid things!"
Y/N stared at him in disbelief. "Minho...you...you really think that?" She asks, slowly reaching to put a hand over his. "I'm sorry. I'll try taking better care of myself. I swear."
"Don't scare me like that ever again." He takes her hand, helping her up. "I'll take you back to the glade. You need to rest, keepers orders." He smiles cheekily. "But it's back to work first thing tomorrow."
Y/N playfully rolls her eyes. "Whatever you say, boss." She laughs, holding Minho's hand as he takes her back to the glade.
