Ayo quick A/N: The start of this was written a while ago lol, and I just never got around to finishing till now! :)

Also I couldnt decided if this was more bittersweet or fluff, So I'll let y'all choose lol

   Kurapika was my brother Pairo's best friend. I never understood why though. Pairo knew I hated Kurapika with my whole heart. He was always so much better at everything than I was. And his head was always stuck in a book.

I was in the forests and came across a small blonde boy, Kurapika, I really didn't want to catch his attention so I tried to get away. But he noticed me...

"(Y/N)!"

"Oh hey booknerd." I tried to act tough. But it honestly failed.

"Books make you smart, so being a book nerd means I'm smarter than you!"

Seriously... what is up with this kid. "U-um... well I'll prove you wrong!!!! I'll prove I'm smarter than you!! I-I'll pass the test to get out of this village! And I'll travel the world, bring back a cure for Pairo's eyes, and become well known way before you would!!"

"Pairo I really screwed up this time..."

I had gotten back home from the forest and I was talking to my brother about today's events.

"What happened (Y/N)?"

"You know how I hate Kurapika and am always trying to show him up..?"

"Because you like him."

"I-I dont like him!! Anyways... I told him I would pass the test to leave the village... and I dont think I can. But this is my chance to finally show him up..."

I looked over at Pairo, I felt a sting in my eyes, I knew I was about to cry.

"Its ok, I know you'll make it!"

"Bye Everyone! I'll be back I promise! And I'll find a cure for Pairo I promise!!" I had did it. I had passed the test and I was set, was set to leave this place. I was excited for the outside world! It was going to be great. I decided not to tell Kurapika, after at least a week he'll notice I was gone. It was just a harmless prank, ya' know? Sometimes I can go 2 weeks without seeing him, or him seeing me.

6 and a half weeks later the entire clan had died... Pairo, Mom, Dad, the elders, everyone. I regret not finding a cure fast enough, or not writing any letters, and I regret being so mean to Kurapika because he was so amazing at everything...

Years had gone by, I was 17 near 18 now. I travel all the time to find a cure for Pairo, even though he's dead, I thought I could help someone else with the same condition as him. Currently I was in a city, it was big and pretty, I've been traveling for a while and just stopped here to stay the night. I was walking and not paying attention to where I was going and accidentally ran into a blonde boy, I fell back and landed on the ground.

"Are you ok?" Once he turned around I could better see his features, he was quite feminine and mature looking, and was currently dressed in a suit. Even though he was obviously a stranger I couldn't help but feel an ache in my heart, as he reminded me so much of someone I used to know...

"Yes, Thank you by the way. May I ask for your name?" I smiled and looked up at him.

"I'm Kurapika"
