A squishy sound under my foot made me jump back. Crouching down I took a closer look. It was a crushed and bruised flower, surrounded by a pool of muddy water tinged with red.
The flowers in front of me also shared a similar fate. I shivered.
Five seconds in and I was already thoroughly scared. Okay, pretty pathetic huh? Squishy flowers...
I continued on with front of a brave soldier, even though I was secretly chanting spells under my breath. "Pleasedon'tletmedie, pleasedon'tletmedie..." Don't let the kawaii me die!!
The hell? Kawaii, don't kid me!
...Kitsune, now you show up?
Oh please, don't talk to me in that tone. You weren't in any real danger.
Hmph.
Okay, okay I'm sorry. Happy?
...no.
...okay.
Kitsune, I was joking.
...oh.
*awkward silence*
I shook my head, then stopped when I reached a rusty door. Cracking the door open a bit, I peered inside. Then whooshed backward at the speed of light, clamping my hand over my mouth and nose.
The disgusting smell that surrounded the passage was even stronger here.
Eeew. Urggh, I might just throw up right here.
Nevertheless, I walked in anyway and immediately noticed that the squishy flowers were scattered all over at this place too. There were also huge blotches of magic here and there.
Suspicious, ve~ry suspicous. I inched closer and closer to the back of the room, careful not to set off any hidden booby traps.
It's dangerous!! Get back right now!!
Kitsunes voice resounded in my head like a bell, ringing over and over again. I turned back and started to run, but carelessly slipped. A sickening thud echoed through out the room.
My ankle throbbed, and a trickle of sweat rolled down my forehead. Squeezing my eyes shut, I was careful not to let any tears slip. This was nothing.
A high pitched shriek was heard behind me. Craning my neck, I faced a pair of glowing eyes. Shocked, I traced back to the time when I was transported to the village. Those were the same pair of eyes I had saw before...without a drop of sanity in them, savage eyes.
It was also the monster that had chased me right before I was sent to this magic crazy world.
The thing let out another shriek. I flinched, then stood up quickly. Pain immediately shot up my ankle. I wobbled, but managed to keep myself upright. I studied the thing.
Looking closer, I found out that it was once human. I wasn't sure how I came to that conclusion. I mean, it doesn't even look relatively close to a human! With its deformed shape, it resembled a demon more than a human.
Eyes wide as saucers, I backed off slowly as if I were facing an animal. Suddenly, it launched itself near me and raised its metal claw up high. Bringing it down on my cheek, I felt a harsh sting. Shakily putting my hand on my cheek and holding it out, I looked at it, almost disbelieving what I saw.
Hot sticky blood coated my hand and dripped down on the floor. I just stood there not knowing what to do, completely in shock. Tugging myself out of my daze, I focused on getting out of the enclosed space.
