Let me tell you something. There are two extremely beautiful sounds in this world. The sound of amazing music, and the final bell of the day on a Friday. The bell letting all of us who are trapped in hell run free. I couldn't be happier when I heard it myself.
All my stress washes right off of my shoulders. I had taken two difficult tests today that I don't think I passed even after hours of studying, and I had to hand in that stupid paper about the little things. I love to write, but I was up until three in the morning trying to make crap up so I can at least get a passing grade.
I gather up my books and let out a happy sigh as I get up from my seat. I catch Jamie out of the corner of my eye whispering to her friend. Jamie has that cliché group of friends where it's three girls who all hangout together as best friends and gossip about every other person around them. They are friends with all other popular people and shun anyone they don't feel are worthy
Not wanting to be around Medusa any longer and end up turned to stone, I quickly look away from her and I head off towards my locker. Today is Halloween, and I am ready to sleep through the day. But no- Jasper wants me to go to a party. Thank god I was able to find a costume. I think it's pretty clever.
I approach my locker to find someone I would much rather not see. Mason. He never goes to his locker so I never see him. I almost want to just forget going to my locker and worry about the homework I'll miss later. That is before someone's hand slips into mine.
At first I'm startled but then I relax when I turn to find Jasper. He let's out a wide grin. "Well look who survived," he teases. He knew about my stressful day since I was freaking out about it this morning.
I won't let Mason ruin how glad I am for this day to be over. "Survived and conquered," I state with a grin.
I approach my locker and immediately tense up with how close Mason is. That bastard ruined my friendship. He rummages through his locker and seems to notice me but doesn't say a word.
Jasper leans against the locker beside me. I notice him flash a dirty look Mason's way. Right after he let's out one of his charming smiles. "Great! Now we can go have an amazing night. You got a costume, right?"
I place my combination into the locker. "Of course I did. If I hadn't I'm pretty sure I would just put on a bed sheet and go as a super hero. I already know what my power would be."
Jasper raises an eyebrow. "Oh really?"
"Yup- blushing. Who needs heat vision when you can melt all the snow in the North Pole with the heat from your cheeks?"
Jasper let's out a long hardy laugh. I'm pretty proud of my joke. Ok, I'm sounding way too much like Jasper would. I notice that Mason looks a little amused beside me. Yes asshole, I make jokes.
"Well you better also have the power to have a great costume. If we're going to this party then we both have to look at least like we tried."
"Well I hope you're still going with the whole devil thing." I open my locker and begin to put books away and take out the ones that I'll need.
"Well is this your way of saying I'm hot, Rosie?" Jasper asks with a smirk.
"No, it's my way of saying you are the spawn of Satan and evil," I say with an innocent smile.
"If anyone is the devil, it's you Rosie."
I go to make a clever comeback when I'm taken back by someone wrapping their arms around Mason. I quickly glance in that direction to find Marcy. Oh please help me now.
I pull out my last book and shut my locker. I'm ready to get the hell out of here.
"Hey baby," Marcy muses to Mason. I need to leave. Just her being here like this is making me angry. After all she put me through I just really want to get away from her.
