"Get out."
Blank [EyeColour] eyes started into harsh ones. You knew this day would come; You no longer cared that the chances of you dying out on the cold street was a large possibility.
"The orphanage barely has enough food feed every mouth, and you happen to be disposable."
You didn't know wether her voice was mocking you, or breaking the true reality to you. Yes. You weren't a good child. Good children never attacked other children, regardless if they were bullying you first. Good children never bit their caretakers, even though they roughly grabbed at your skin, bruising it for days later.
It was a fact, and frankly, you accepted it too easily.
The orphanage mother was on a rant, going on about how this is no longer your home, how you will never be here again. It was annoying.
You calmly turned around and walked away mid-speech, ignoring the screech of the orphanage mother yelling for you to come back.
Your feet walked through the crowds, passing each passerby. None of them glanced your direction. Why would they?
Eventually, you found yourself at the park.
It was getting dark. Hopefully the white button up shirt would keep you warm, but your weren't sure about the black cargo pants you wore. Hey, at least the thin white socks that stopped just below your knew were somewhat warm.
You sat down on a bench in a fetal position, watching the stars, and shivering when a cold breeze flew by, tickling your skin.
Hey, maybe you could pickpocket or steal something? Begging for money sure as hell won't do anything, and your pride was too large to do something like that.
*Bang* *Bang*
Were those gunshots, or fireworks? You couldn't tell.
Looking to the night sky, you found it illuminated by beautiful sparks. Huh, why would someone send fireworks in the night when it wasn't a special night at all? They could get arrested if someone calls the cops.
Another firework lit up the sky. You watched it as it flew higher in higher.
"That one is a little big..."
You murmured out, then it exploded. With bright lights channeled in the sky, you found your vision blinded by the brightest light you've ever witnessed.
Air flew around you crazily, making your hair flow in all sorts of directions.
You closed your mouth shut, and forced your eyes closed, but the bright light was still visible through your eyelids. Were you going to go blind because of this? You hoped not.
When it finally ended, you opened your eyes again.
When you opened them, you found yourself sitting once again on the park bench. Your soft hands landed on the bench, only to recoil as the wood no longer felt polished, but old and with slight splinters sticking out off it. The trees and grass overwhelmed the park, the once stone pathways and bridges being overrun with moss and plants. An abundance of birds and animals such as rabbits hopped around.
The city lights that shine even from the park were off, leaving shadowed buildings in it's wake. The noises of cars and people were no longer heard, only left with an unsettling silence that shook you to the core.
"What the..."
You got up, and began to walk in the city again. There was nobody to be seen. You looked through various windows only to see things covered in a light layer of dust, looking like it had been abandoned for a period of time.
A hand reached your forehead, as it was still slightly numb. The sun came over the horizon, illuminating the new place, showing all the greenery taking over the buildings and roads.
Your pace quickened, and soon they came to a light jog as your went your way to the orphanage. When arriving, you saw that the wood it was made out was rotting. The door was busted down, and as you walked inside, you saw nothing. No children, no workers.
You walked to the shared room you had with 4 others, and saw nothing that showed someone had been there soon before. All the drawings were still there, with the date in it, but it was abandoned like usual.
Silence enveloped you as you silently walked out, back into the city, not knowing what was happening.
You walked around, aimlessly not knowing what to do. You entered buildings, and searched as hard as you could, without entering any scary places, yet found no one.
Night bleached over the horizons once again, and in the distance, she saw a lit up area with lamps.
Your heart raced as you ran closer to it. Maybe there were people there. Maybe they knew what was going on.
