Around forty-five minutes after Mark left, Yuta finished processing what just happened. Before he went to go see how Mark was feeling (because there was no way he was feeling good after such an explosive break up), he let himself smile. Things could have gone so much worse, Eunji's whole plan ultimately failed and he could finally relax. Thoughts about how much he used to live in fear of her ran through his mind, she used to hold what felt like his entire life over him, and now he was finally free.
Before he could go comfort his poor soulmate, he needed to look less giddy with excitement and more solemn, but it was just so hard. The simple sentence: "she's finally gone" kept on repeating over and over in his head. It only took three years, a mental breakdown on Yuta's part and a violent argument for Mark to finally end things. He'd be more annoyed that Mark had been so dense for so long, but Mark had been so confident and had really spoken his mind during the argument that he was willing to look past it.
After taking another five minutes to calm down, Yuta quietly made his way into Mark's bedroom expecting to hear crying, but he was met with only silence. Eunji's belongings had been haphazardly flung to the corners of the room. Any anger the Canadian boy had towards his ex girlfriend seemed to have died down for the moment, and he was lying motionless in bed staring (blankly) at the wall. Yuta's heart wrenched for him. He felt selfish for ultimately being happy that his soulmate just experienced a break up, seeing that Mark being single was in his best interests and that it had taken him almost an hour to get to the point where he was ready to be supportive.
If Mark had noticed Yuta come in, he didn't say anything, so Yuta took this as permission to stay. He gently lifted the covers and crawled into bed with Mark. The small boy's body radiated warmth, a welcome change from the cold weather and Yuta shivered form the sudden change. Mark stayed silent and it didn't feel awkward per say, but it felt like there was something missing. So in response to this, Yuta pulled his soulmate closer by the waist until his chest was up against Mark's back. It was Mark's turn to shiver, though Yuta wasn't sure why,, , until Mark snuggled even closer, pressing his hips into Yuta's and tangling their legs together - seeking comfort. Yuta's breath hitched, there was no way that Mark didn't know that his ass was directly on his dick. Silently, he started to pray that Mark wouldn't move much.
Yuta pressed his face into the crook of Mark's neck trying to reassure him which seemed to help, until Mark let out a melancholic sigh. Yuta removed his hand from Mark's waist, feeling discouraged, but instead brought it up to the younger boy's shoulder, tentatively urging him to turn around to face him. Mark got the hint and rolled over, the blankets shifting around them enough to let in a flood of cold air. Neither Yuta nor Mark said anything about the sudden, unwelcome, change in temperature but they did move even closer together, just so their foreheads were touching affectionately and Yuta's large hand was naturally resting on Mark's hip.
"Markie..." Yuta began with a degree of uncertainty and caution.
"Yeah?" Mark breathed out.
"How are you feeling?"
"Not brilliant" a bitter laugh escaped from his lips.
"I wasn't expecting you to, but I was wondering..."
"What?"
Yuta hesitated.
"You know that you and Eunji aren't soulmates, right?"
"Yeah,, , I kind of got that from the verbal abuse she seemed disgustingly comfortable to hurl at you,, , I don't think I could manage to stay in a relationship with someone who treats other people that poorly."
"I'm just surprised that you didn't notice sooner, she didn't hide it very well"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
