She was aware of how much she was making things harder for herself.

Running down the hard pavement my white converse slamming down on each step I took as I sped my pace up. I make a hard right around a large business building, looking for any sight of human life. The streetlights barely shining enough for me to be able to see the curb in front of me. A car slowly drives down the street, keeping my eyes on it as I sprint towards it. I stumble over my feet and fall to the ground, my face smashed into the dirt. Shit. I repeat to myself in my head. A rough grasp wraps around my wrist.

He caught me.
