After winning my 2nd Kalos badge at the Cyllage City gym, Serena and I started to head out towards Shalour City. Along the way, Serena caught a hawlucha because she thought that he was really cool and we battled some trainers before arriving in Geosenge Town where we saw Korrina who challenged me to a battle against her two lucarios. Blitzwing was rather beat up from battling the trainers on the way to Geosenge Town and while he did defeat her first lucario, her second lucario, while it took some decent damage, took out Blitzwing along with the rest of my team, handing me my fourth ever loss so far, though towards the end, lucario was just barely able to stand. Korrina then told me that she was the Shalour City gym leader and was looking forward to battling me again. We then went back to the pokemon center to rest my pokemon and tears started to flow down my face since Korrina's lucario beat my whole team which made me really worried about my gym battle against her. Serena, in an attempt to make me feel better, gave me a hug as tears continued to flow down my face until I started to feel tired so I fell asleep and when I woke up, I was resting on Serena's lap and she asked if I was feeling better, to which I replied that I was feeling at least a bit better. Serena then suggested that we trade pokemon which I agreed to and she decided that she wanted to trade her hawlucha to me in exchange for a pokemon of my choice, so I decided to give her Roadblock, my snorlax. After the trade was complete, I decided to name my newly traded hawlucha Windbreaker. Then Serena led me by the hand out of Geosenge Town since I was still a bit sad about losing to Korrina, then we battled some trainers before we came up to the reflection cave and battled some trainers inside before exiting the cave and arriving in Shalour City where we saw Tierno, Trevor and Shauna who were on their way to the Tower of Mastery where they were wanting to find out information about mega evolution. Serena and I decided to go with them and we saw Korrina and her grandfather who described himself as the mega evolution guru. After he gave us a talk describing the basics of mega evolution, I told him that I had used mega evolution before so I had experience with the importance of the bond that was necessary for mega evolution to be possible. Korrina then told me that she was ready to go back to her gym so she could be ready for our battle. After leaving the Tower of Mastery, Serena and I went to the pokemon center for lunch and headed to the gym where I battled the trainers inside during which Windbreaker learned flying press before coming up to Korrina, but before I was about to talk to her, I got really nervous. Serena took hold of my hand and said, "Listen Jason, you are a really great trainer, I understand why you're nervous but I know you can win this. Besides, Windbreaker is an awesome new addition to your team and should be very helpful in this battle." I started to tear up and hugged Serena in appreciation and said, "Thanks, Serena." "Of course, Jason." She replied, hugging me back for a few minutes. After breaking the hug, I went over to Korrina, took a deep breath and said, "Korrina, I'm ready for our gym battle now." "Ok Jason, let's do it." She replied. We then got into our positions and I sent out Windbreaker while Korrina sent out mienfoo. Unfortunately for Korrina, Windbreaker singlehandedly defeated two of her pokemon before going down to Korrina's own hawlucha, though Korrina's hawlucha did take some big damage from mine as well. "Jason's hawlucha is unable to battle, Korrina's hawlucha wins." Said the referee. I then returned Windbreaker back to his pokeball and thanked him for doing big damage to Korrina's hawlucha and sent out Blitzwing and said, "Blitzwing, use flame charge. Blitzwing hit Hawlucha very hard finally taking it out. "Hawlucha is unable to battle, fletchinder wins, so victory to Jason." Announced the referee. After calling Blitzwing back to his pokeball and thanking him for winning me the battle, tears started to flow down my face again after finally beating Korrina and I dropped to the ground in relief and Serena came over and we hugged each other tight for about a minute before I regained my energy and went over to Korrina who said, "Congratulations Jason, as proof of your victory at the Shalour City gym, I award you the rumble badge." "Thanks Korrina." I replied, taking my newly won rumble badge. Then Korrina said, "I want you to come with me back to the tower." Serena and I then left the gym after I had agreed to see her at the tower and went to the pokemon center for a rest and went to the Tower of Mastery where we went to the top of the tower, one of Korrina's lucarios seemed to want to battle alongside me against the other lucario in a mega evolution battle. After beating Korrina's lucario with the other, Korrina said that I could keep mine and so I named him Auramaster. Korrina then told me that my lucario was the one who beat my whole team in Geosenge Town and that made me excited because not only did I have a very strong lucario on my team now, but now he could mega evolve. She then said, "For your next gym battle, you should probably go to Coumarine City." "Thanks Korrina." I replied. Serena and I then went to the pokemon center after seeing that it was getting late and we had dinner and went to bed for the night and in the morning we had breakfast and started to head out to Coumarine City.
